Oppose. Hard to assess whether this event will be of significance in the future, but looking for prior similar events, I found March 2012 Gaza–Israel clashes, which doesn't appear (from the talk page) to have been through AfD, but was assessed by a member of WikiProject Israel to be a Start class article. (Pointing this out to highlight that the assessing editor did not AfD that article when they assessed the article.) Easier to AfD/merge this a month from now than to delete current info and recreate if it is of significance. At the very least, this should merge with Israel–Gaza conflict instead of being a pure delete.--Policy Reformer (c) 01:49, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. Most significant military escalation in the area for years; already undoubtedly notable. Notability likely to grow greater with time. Encyclopedic details can already be conveyed in this article, it's not just a rehashing of news headlines. I understand the desire to delete given the blatantly Israeli POV, but readers just need to understand that there is a disproportionate number of editors on Wikipedia who are pro-Israeli military, so much so that articles like these do not differ much from official Israeli military and U.S. press releases.
