Contested PROD. Concern was Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league. PROD was contested on the grounds that the J-League Division 2 is fully pro. Delete - player who has not played in a fully professional league nor senior international football so fails WP:NFOOTY still stands. No indication of any other achievements garner significant reliable coverage to pass WP:GNG either. Fenix down (talk) 15:32, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Delete - he has signed to Fagiano Okayama FC in a professional capacity, so while the nominator is correct that he doesn't pass WP:FOOTY now, he has a chance of passing it later if he plays professional games and performs well in them. On the other hand, he might drop out due to injury and not playing any. Since we aren't a crystal ball, we shouldn't have an article until a definite claim to notability can be proven. There would be a good case for, instead of deletion, moving the article back to draft space (without a redirect), such that it could be easily restored if WP:FOOTY is met in the near future. --LukeSurl^{t c} 11:19, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I thought about userfying, but to be honest my gut feeling is that if he starts becoming a notable pro footballer, most of the article will focus on that, rather than his earlier amateur and semi-pro achievements, so I would expect a major rewrite anyway.
