Redundant (WP:CFORK) to 2022 Conservative Party leadership election (UK), Chris Pincher scandal and 2022 United Kingdom government crisis. It's not clear what's gained by presenting the same information again in excessive detail (WP:NOTNEWS) and in WP:Proseline format. Sandstein 08:35, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete Does seem to be a duplication of 2022_United_Kingdom_government_crisis#List_of_departures. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:40, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete A timeline of resignations is not the same as of the election. Keep it in the main article. Reywas92Talk 14:38, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete duplicates existing content, and no added benefit to this article. The events up until 7 July duplicate 2022 United Kingdom government crisis, and most of the rest of it duplicates 2022 Conservative Party leadership election (UK). It's not a timeline of the election, as it has many things not directly related to the election itself. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:40, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: The same information is also included at 2022 in the United Kingdom, where a huge list of departures were added last week, and this article was an attempt to rehome some of that information. It is based on Timeline of the 2007 Labour Party leadership election (UK), where a similar thing appears to have been done. I won't lose any sleep if this is deleted though, which looks likely at this point. This is Paul (talk) 18:39, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Duplication of information and very little of that is about the election itself. Dhruv edits (talk) 18:26, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete As per above, i.e. Duplicate of information. Edl-irishboy (talk) 16:04, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge – Sandstein please note that there is some useful information here about the reasons members of the government gave for resigning which is not all duplicated elsewhere, so that should be checked through and merged to the best place and not simply deleted without checking. Moonraker (talk) 13:59, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't think these few tidbits are worth the effort, but feel free to do so; the article can then be redirected. Sandstein 15:18, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- I also thought of merging this but to a different article. There are some years in British politics articles (see for example 2021 in United Kingdom politics and government), with the page for 2022 yet to be created. With your permission I’d like to submit a request to move the page to 2022 in United Kingdom politics and government then expand it with other UK political events, taking some information from 2022 in the United Kingdom and trimming that page a little as it is currently 250K long and becoming cumbersome to edit. This is Paul (talk) 17:16, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- If you want to create 2022 in United Kingdom politics and government, you should create it from scratch. What such an article would contain about this election would be at a much higher level of generality than what the deleted article contained; it would also be in prose rather than a timeline. Sandstein 12:55, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- The articles I'm thinking of, like this one, are timelines rather than prose, hence my request, but I'm happy to do it from scratch. I'll copy the text from here into a draft then look at trimming some of it, especially the list of departures, which is incomplete and could be summarised. I'll also add other politics events throughout the year, such as by-elections, cabinet reshuffles, events relating to devolved government, etc. This is Paul (talk) 17:01, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
