Function details: This is a proposal that was originally filled under Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Yobot 19. Due to Yobot being currently blocked, I will take over this one task.

The bot will add the listas parameter to the talk page of the biography articles that lack it. A listing of pages is at Category:Biography articles without listas parameter. I've gone thru the letters A-F to find "weird" names that don't get sorted in the surname, forename pattern. Examples are Chinese names, old Japanese names, royalty, Burmese names, old Arabic names, etc. I will have missed some names (plus new names are added all the time), so I'd like to ask JimCubb or Mandarax to also look to find "weird names". Once a section has been cleared (example, names starting with "A"), I'll let the bot have at the section. I'll go over the log to see if any names did not get sorted in the pattern and then see if that edit was done correctly or not. Bgwhite (talk) 06:42, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with that. Bgwhite works on this task for a while now and really helped on Yobot's BRFA. -- Magioladitis (talk) 07:40, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. MBisanz talk 01:47, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would ask that you chose a different username for the bot. WP:BOTPOL: "The account's name should identify the operator or bot function." Additionally, Yobot has made lots of edits and is recognized by many and it would be preferable to avoid possible confusion about who runs it. —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 15:33, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Probably a good idea. If you give me a new name, I can rename this account or you can just register a new account. MBisanz talk 04:24, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please rename the account to a name that you think should be more fitting. Bgwhite (talk) 07:10, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Trial complete. This is the permanent link to the edits. Some examples: [1] [2] [3]. I messed up the edit summary. This first part, "Add listas per WP:NAMESORT" is what the summary should just say. The rest of the summary came from the code that I should have removed. Bgwhite (talk) 07:28, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

 Approved. As User:BG19bot. MBisanz talk 10:26, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
