Discussion[edit]

Do you mean Article-Talk-Article-Talk-Article-Talk or Article-Article-Article-Talk-Talk-Talk? - Jarry1250 (t, c) 18:01, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How the hell did this get into the approved requests category? Answers of the back of a postcard, please... - Jarry1250 (t, c) 18:06, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If I understand your question I'll do the following: I'll be running though all articles with cat YOB unknown in the mainspace, I will adding it in the talk page and then remove it from the article page. The same for cat YOD unknown. The two runs will be independent from each other. -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
More specific, load in AWB cat YOB unknown -> filter out non mainspace -> convert to talk pages -> add cat YOB unknown -> reload list -> filter out non mainspace -> remove cat YOB unknown. Do the same for cat YOD unknown. :) -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:30, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

((BAGAssistanceNeeded)) This is an obvious task and there isn't any response for two weeks. -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:18, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies. Approved for trial (20 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete.. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 17:22, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trial complete. No problems. Check Special:Contributions/Yobot. Maybe a small adjustment has to be made: If the individual is a alive (i.e. article contains Category:Living people) then instead of moving the category to the talk page, replace it with Year of birth missing (living people). Category:Year of birth unknown is "for use on discussion pages of individuals from antiquity whose year of birth is lost to history and never likely to be known." and not for living people. -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:39, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All looks fine to me. Just a couple of things that for me would make things even better: 1) Keeping the time between removal and addition as short as possible and 2) Tweaking the edit summary - definitely link to instructions; also "per these instructions" might be preferable to existing. If it were my bot I'd have it as "Moving Category:Year of birth unknown from article to talk page, per these instructions.". Just a suggestion though.  Approved. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 18:52, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestions. I had the same idea but the instructions are in the category and it's already linked. Maybe "Moving Category:Year of birth unknown from article to talk page, per instructions in category's page." is better. -- Magioladitis (talk) 19:00, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
