Questions

1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?

   I particularly help around animal WikiProjects and their scopes, and a few articles involving the Blackhawks and White Sox. I am also a reviewer.

3. Have you been in any disputes over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?

   I have been in a few disputes with some other editors back when I started in December. I was editing some pages when I saw that somebody thought I had made vandalism, even though every single edit I make is sworn to be in good faith. And we got into a whole big dispute over all of that. I dealt with it by taking a WikiBreak and coming back about three weeks later.

• I would suggest using edit summaries more often as the help people know what your edit is about having to see the edit diff. See this page for you usage summary. Generally people would like to see about 98% edit summary usage. Also, try to have more article edits but good job on Kayavak. Derild4921☼ 14:34, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

• Hello Belugaboy. It looks to me as if you spend most of your time in the user (30%) and user talk spaces (26%). While this isn't necessarily bad, you might want to consider backing off a bit there and, as Derild said, contributing more to other areas of the encyclopedia. I would recommend contributing as many areas of Wikipedia as you can so you can find out what you like to do most; it also gives you experience.   • Airplaneman, I think he may have excessive userspace edits the same reason I do: because 1) when I was a newbie I didn't know about moving so I copied the whole article to the mainspace; 2) because I didn't bother with requesting moves and copied the whole thing to the redirect; 3) I expand articles in my userspace. • Hi. I think it would be a very good idea if you were to follow the advice given to you by Airplaneman. It's probably not a very good idea to suggest adopting other editors who already have more experience than you. Wikipedia is a very serious project, it's not quite the same thing as an Internet forum; most editors don't make the creation of their user page a first priority - it's somthing you can build on between times when doing some good edits to articles. Check out the topics that interest you most and expand them, but do be sure to read all the rules and instructions first, and if you get stuck, don't hesitate to ask an experienced editor for help (like someone who has 10,000 edits or more).--Kudpung (talk) 02:24, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

• Hi there. User groups (like file mover, which you recently applied for and were declined) are not trophies. There is nothing to be gained for collecting all of them, and for the most part no one will ever really know, or care, about how many user groups or user rights you have access to. On the other hand, though, aggressively pursuing user groups, which is called 'hat collecting' by some on Wikipedia, is looked down upon, as it is taken as an indication that your priorities are not in the right place.
