Veronica Mars (season 3)[edit]

Nominator(s): Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion

I am nominating this for featured list because I feel it meets the current criteria. Please note that although this is currently a good article, I have reformatted it to become a featured list. Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 07:39, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible (for Article History purposes) to have this as a GA and FL at the same time? I think you should get this delisted first. Dabomb87 (talk) 12:51, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't too sure about this, so I just nominated the article. I have inquired for this article to be delisted at GA, so hopefully there is no issue here (at FLC). Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 13:21, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The article has now been delisted from GA, so there should be no problem. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:06, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lead
  • The third season comprised of 20 episodes and concluded its initial airing on May 22, 2007.
  • The season continues the story of Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), now a freshman studying at Hearst College, while continuing to moonlight as a private investigator under the wing of her detective father.
  • The third season received generally positive critical opinions,; however, at least one reviewer expressed disappointment with the series finale, mainly because it did not provide closure for the storylines and characters.
Cast and characters
  • Fan reaction to the character was generally negative, after Veronica witnessed Jackie talking to a friend while dating Wallace. -- you should clarify that the reaction was negative after that episode or storyline
  • Thomas blamed the character's reception on his error in judgment; he had hoped fans would question whether it was Jackie or Veronica in the wrong, however the audience automatically assumed that it was Jackie. -- the final however should be formatted as ; however,
  • There should be a link to Parker Lee in this section.
Release
  • The first two season of Veronica Mars aired on UPN, however in 2006, CBS Corporation decided to merge UPN and Warner Bros. into The CW. -- link to CW
  • In addition to all the aired episodes, DVD extras included "Pitching Season 4", an interview with Rob Thomas discussing a new direction for the series that picks up years later, with Veronica as a rookie FBI agent; "Going Undercover with Rob Thomas"; webisode gallery with cast interviews and various set tours; unaired scenes with introductions by Rob Thomas; and a gag reel. -- this needs to be formatted better
  • Beginning with the eleventh episode, ratings dropped to a consistent viewership of a mid-2 million per episode,[28] and the final episode before the hiatus was watched by 2.66 million viewers.
  • When the series returned from its hiatus, viewers had decreased to 2.35 million,[30] and the finale two episodes garnered only 1.78 and 2.15 million viewers, respectively.
Awards
  • The third season was nominated for two awards.: Kristen Bell was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television,[33] and the series was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award for On-Air Promotion (Radio or Television).
Episodes
  • In-late March, Thomas stated that although the film was not green-lighted by the studio, the possibility was still there. Thomas revealed that the film would take place prior to Veronica's graduation, and feature Wallace, Logan, Mac and Weevil.
  • Oops, sorry. The latter is correct.--Truco 17:51, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry to contradict you here, but there should actually be no hyphen. Dabomb87 (talk) 03:01, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wow, was I wrong ;)--Truco 15:35, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
References
  • There is an inconsistency with the linking of the publishers, either link all of them or none at all.--Truco 19:58, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review. I have fixed all issues except for those I have replied to above. :) Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 10:21, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Comments
  • the latest victim of the Hearst serial rapist, a storyline begun in a second season episode - I had to read this twice to understand, so maybe say "... rapist in a storyline begun..."
  • The third season received generally positive critical opinions - receiving a "review" makes more sense than receiving an opinion
  • Veronica's ex-boyfriend and Lilly's brother Duncan Kane - Lilly has not yet been introduced, so it doesn't make much sense to introduce Duncan as her brother
  • fan interest dominating the Logan-Veronica relationship - a word synonymous with "support" would work better than "dominating"
  • Parker is Mac's extroverted roommate at Hearst College and "everything that [she] is not" - who said this? Just add "according to [somebody]" at the end
  • It's picky but the link to 2006-07 United States network television schedule should use an endash, not a hyphen
  • Veronica Mars ranked #138 out of #142 - should be "138th out of 142"
  • Maybe separate awards from ratings in a new paragraph
  • The quote "played with perfect, sneering entitlement by Ryan Hansen" isn't really a review of the third season if the character's gone - perhaps just say that the reviewer missed the character
  • gone from punky to-dare we say-preppy - should use emdashes, not hyphens
  • head shaved--Veronica had missed - should use emdash
  • Veronica and Tim set out to prove Professor Landry is innocent - "prove Professor Landry's innocence"
  • Why aren't any of the writers or directors linked?
    • I linked every writer or director with a page in every instance (I don't think this is considered to be overlinking). Corn.u.co.piaDisc.us.sion 10:08, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Otherwise, everything looks pretty good. Nice work :) —97198 (talk) 06:48, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
