Reason: Photo of an important antenna in 1962. For a summary, see the lead section of Holmdel Horn Antenna. This is the instrument used in 1964 to discover the cosmic microwave background of the universe, which confirmed the Bing Bang theory. The two scientists who did it received the Nobel Prize in physics. On a sidenote: the image caption in Arno Penzias claims that the two scientists Penzias and Wilson are standing at the base of the antenna, but this claim is unsourced.

  - David, I removed the halo. You may see an optical illusion at thumbnail size because of the edge contrast, so look at it at full size.
