The file in question is a non-free screenshot of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! that is meant for use in the Lakitu article to illustrate the character. First, the character appears tiny in the image and is partially obscured (nearly invisible at thumbnail size), making it a very poor representation of the article's subject. Second, the actual depiction of the character is no different than the other, clearer, non-free promotional image that is used in the article already and is a more useful depiction. The file is a non-free screenshot of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! which is meant "To demonstrate the elements of the game, including racing as a team." The screenshot itself is an extremely poor choice, as any of the "elements" the image was attempting to represent are concealed with a giant "START!" smacked in the middle of image. Additionally, the rationale is not specific to the use in Matt Vasgersian, with passages such as "The image is used for identification and clarification in the context of critical commentary of the work from which the screenshot is taken" which are inapplicable for the biography article in which it appears. This is a good image, but the left side bar heavily detracts from the quality of the image. If there's a way to improve the image while keeping the same source, that would be useful. This is a very important image. It can, and should, be re-drawn effectively. The same image could be re-rendered as SVG using green for land and blue for water, effectively tracing this image and preserving the glide slope information plus the geometry of the image, neither of which is copyrighted. FlightAware data is public that could be found from multiple sources; Basically just altitude/lat-long coordinates they or someone on the pilot forum pprune.org formatted into a Google Earth layer. As for Google Earth itself, Google claims - "No explicit permission is required for your project." (I'd like to use your maps on my website or in my application. What do I need to know?) You've explained why it should be replaced, we are able to recreate the image therefore there is absolutely no justification under our NFCC policy to use an image which is not available under free licence. Described incorrectly as a "Party logo", this tweak of the US Republican Party's logo appears novel and may be original art for a blog article. If that is the case, this is not reasonable fair use.
