Unnecessary non-free file; the art is not the subject of the article and stated purpose is to show that "artworks are found in the university." This is replaceable by text. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:07, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blurry & unused. Doesn't look useful. Stefan2 (talk) 18:25, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

5 files in one. Very messy history and some seem to lack source and/or licence. None seems useful, so maybe it's easier to just delete everything. Stefan2 (talk) 21:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was: Delete per nom. This is a photo of Cumberbatch in which he's clearly identifiable as himself. A regular photo of him would suffice. In the images of Andy Serkis in roles referred to below, he is unidentifiable and looks completely different than in a regular photo with no costume/makeup. Fails WP:NFCC. Can be easily replaced by an free photo of the actor in question; no critical commentary exists in the article relating to aspects of the appearance that cannot be covered by said free image. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 22:31, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Given that the previous portrayals were of oriental decent and this portrayal of a white Caucasian that should be sufficient enough to warrant it's inclusion. It is no different from This Image or this one. -- MisterShiney 09:28, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If that's the only reason for including it, a free image of Cumberbatch certainly gets across his ethnicity (as the article does perfectly fine by text alone), e.g. File:Benedict Cumberbatch 2011 (jpg).jpg. As to the images already in the article, the infobox one is primarily for identification, and personally I don't have an issue with axing, but the STII shot has ample critical commentary on the appearance and design of that character to justify it per NFCC. This Cumberbatch image can easily be replaced and is not essential to understanding the article, thus it fails NFCC. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 12:14, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
But that is your interpretation of the policy and just because there is a picture of the actor, it's hardly a reason for it to be removed, especially when the other images in the article are of the character and not the actor. -- MisterShiney 20:25, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
A picture of the actor is not a valid replacement for a picture of the actor portraying their role. Whether a picture of the actor in their role is necessary or not, is the question. But replacing it with a random picture of the actor is wrong. It's like using a pciture of Gollum to replace a picture of King Kong because both are played by Andy Serkis, in a King Kong article. -- 70.24.245.196 (talk) 21:31, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
