I'm sorry but I simply do not believe that this is "own work". The uploader has major competence problems generally, not just with images, and there is no EXIF data here. There are numerous images showing these actors on set in the same clothing (eg: here) and while that is not definitive proof that this specific image is copyrighted, I'd be astonished if it is not. There is presently a sockpuppet investigation open also and the alleged (by me) master had similar problems claiming "own work" status for now deleted images. This comes from here or somewhere similar. The uploader has major competence problems in all areas - article creation, copyright, sourcing etc - and there is a sockpuppet investigation open relating to the similarly incompetent Reema Welling. I'm pretty sure that the uploader is not the subject of this image and that the "own work" label is a falsification. There is no camera EXIF data, which seems odd. Iraqi intellectual property still doesn't have any protection under US law, so technically hosting the image on English Wikipedia (as its servers are in the US) would be fine, however what we could do is perhaps change the copyright status to fair use and then provide a justification. It's the only image of Zaki I've yet to see, so isn't easily replaceable, and it's usage is limited (restricted to the infobox), whilst it simultaneously provides an important purpose (giving a visual identifier to an important figure in Iraqi military history). I'd call Zaki important given his leading role in the al-Anfal campaign, which is an incredibly important part of Arab-Kurdish relations in Iraq.

It might be possible to work out the photos date. I'll take a look and see if I can find any greater information, and if not it might still be possible to date the photo by identifying what rank Zaki holds in the photo. Many thanks - MrPenguin20 (talk) 14:44, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
