The result of the discussion was: Keep. Logo is still in use according to their website. Article may need some work though. TLSuda (talk) 15:51, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fails WP:NFCC#8: former logo. Stefan2 (talk) 16:18, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

KEEP : AECL still exists and still uses this logo. [1] [2]. there is no evidence the logo has been discontinued, however a big part of AECL's business will be parented by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories. even if stefan was correct in his assessment (which I see no evidence of) the entire company of AECL would have been replaced by another; in that case the logo has historical significance. also note that the company will continue to be called AECL as either a division of the other company or the parent company (which it alludes to in my link).Grmike (talk)grmike 22 November 2014

more proof AECL still exists and is actually the parent company of CNL - [3] says "Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Limited (CNL), a wholly owned subsidiary of AECL.Grmike (talk) 05:50, 23 November 2014 (UTC)grmike[reply]
Before you changed the article a couple of hours ago, it said that the logo only was used before a change in 2011. So is this wrong? Then why isn't the logo used in the main infobox as is usually the case? --Stefan2 (talk) 01:19, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
When I wrote the caption initially I didn't know much about the reorganization with CNL, I went with what the article lede suggested (that the company renamed - even though the article is still named AECL) - when you proposed deleting this file I had to look into it for myself - what I found is that AECL exists though it's not entirely clear what the word 'reorganization' means. The most we can extrapolate from the news is that AECL will continue to exist within CNL. even if it exists as a subsidiary the company has enough historical relevance to remain as a separate article. The logo was in the infobox but recently removed by someone else. I don't want to/have the time to dispute the change so I just left it - but it definitely deserves a place in the history section.
If this is the current logo, then the logo should only be in the infobox, but not anywhere else in the article. If this is not the current logo, then it shouldn't be in the article. --Stefan2 (talk) 16:09, 25 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
the company still exists as AECL, whether it's a division within the other company or the parent company.
