Non-free cover art being used in American comic book, Detective Comics#Batman, Batman#Early years, Bob Kane#Batman. Generally, non-free cover art is considered acceptable as the primary means of identification in a stand-alone article about the book, album, magazine, or in this particular case the comic book it represents per WP:NFC#cite_note-3, but use in other article requires a much stronger non-free justification (typically the the cover art itself is the subject of sourced commentary within the other article).

1. The use in "American comic book" seems, however, completely decorative and not in compliance with WP:NFCCP. The article is a general article about comic books and not this particular issue and there is no sourced discussion of this particular cover art anywhere in the article. This is some discussion of the various depictions of Batman, but nothing requiring that the reader see this particular cover art to be understood; therefore, WP:NFCC#8 is not really satisfied. Moreover, there is the public domain File:Comic-Monthly-1.jpg also being usedin the article which could serve basically the same encyclopedic purpose as the Batman cover in the main infobox, so WP:NFCC#1 is also not satisfied. For these reasons, I suggest remove from "American comic book".
2. The file's use in "Batman#Early years" and "Bob Kane#Batman" seems borderline OK to me, but other's may feel differently. The does seem to be some discussion of the character's appearance in the covers drawn by Kane so seeing the cover art itself might help improve the reader's understanding. The contextual connection seems stronger in "Bob Kane#Batman", however, so I think it would be better is more sourced content specific to this particular cover was added to ""Batman#Early years" to more strongly justify non-free use. I suggest keep for these, but I think the non-free use justification in the Kane article is stronger than in the character article.
3. The use in "Detective Comics#Batman" seems unnecessary to me. There is a lot written about Batman the character, but almost nothing about this particular cover itself. I don't think the reader needs to see the cover art to understand what is written about Detective Comics #27 in the first paragraph of that section. In addition, the cover art can be seen in other articles, so I'm not sure if it's really needed here per item 6 of WP:NFC#UUI. Suggest remove from "Detective Comics#Batman".

Finally, there does not appear to be a stand-alone article for ''Detective Comics #27. The closest that I could find seems to be "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate", which is described as the feature story of that particular issue. Whoa . Two days of discussion seems awfully short. Of course Detective Comics #27 belongs in Bob Kane, since — aside from its historical significance as discussed in the article and its depiction of Kane's most notable character — it's the only example of Bob Kane's artwork in the entire article. In virtually every artist's article, there is an example of his or her. 1. Keep the image in the Batman article, as it's the character's first appearance. A character's first appearance is very significant in the American comic book genre, and nearly every renowned comic character has an image of their first appearance in their respective article. Detective Comic #27 is discussed in the Batman article itself, as the main story "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate" marks Batman's debut. The issue is the most historically significant publication with regards to the character, and Batman is in the image itself. The image serves another purpose, in that it showcases the character's full costume in his earliest appearances, which the article discusses in detail. If there is any article in which the image should be used, it's the Batman article.
2. Keep the image in the Detective Comics article, as it is the most iconic issue of the series, but the image's place in the Batman article is more important in my opinion.
3. I was less convinced of its relevance in the Bob Kane article, but Tenebrae makes a sound argument above. Therefore, keep the image in the Bob Kane article.

While uploaded under PD this image is most definitely copyrighted and can only exist here under fair use. I'm just not sure it meets all of the requirements. Is it truly irreplaceable? If it is irreplaceable is it truly the best image for Al Bayda Governorate clashes (2013-2014)? Is the contextual significance there? I don't know either way which is why I'm bringing it here. The comic book cover is used in the Fictional history section of the comic book group's article, Sons of the Tiger. The fair use rationale states the cover is "used to illustrate the subject, DHOKF #6, in the Sons of the Tiger" even though this issue is not mentioned in the article. The comic book cover fails WP:NFCC#3a in that there is an image used in the infobox for means of the group's identification and fails WP:NFCC#8 because there is no commentary about the cover thereby doing nothing to increase the reader's understanding of the film and its exclusion is not detrimental to the understanding of the film group. • Delete per WP:NFC#cite_note-3, WP:NFC#3a and WP:NFCC#8. If the cover art was being used as the primary means of identification in a stand-alone article about this particular comic book, then non-free use most likely not be a problem. This type use, as pointed out Aspects, is primarily decorative and lacks the context required by NFCC#8 and also does not really provide and addition encyclopedic information in addition to the infobox image as required by NFCC#3a. All that is needed is for a single non-free use criterion to not be satisfied and this one fails two and possibly also WP:NFCC#1. Moreover, comic book covers are used all the time to identify comics characters without any commentary on the image itself within the article is basically an WP:OTHERIMAGE argument which is not really helpful here because there is no guarantee these other files are being used correctly or that the specifics of their licensing or the relevant article content they are being used to support are exactly the same. Lots of people inappropriately add non-free images to files, and image use is not exactly the same in each and every case.
