The result of the discussion was Blank The primary reason for removing archives and draft content is so that others don't find it and think it's an article, keeping in mind that userspace is indexed unless user prevents it, and to discourage cross namespace POV forking, this is accomplished suitably by blanking when there is no offending content.--Doug.(talk • contribs) 20:55, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
User:Cooljuno411 archives[edit]
Userspace archives of two articles and a talk page. No indication that they are work-in-progress pages, since they are labeled as archives and the user has not edited them since the day they were created. User:Cooljuno411 appears to be an active editor, but an inquiry about these pages on his talk page has produced no response. So I'm nominating these for deletion per WP:UP#COPIES. --RL0919 (talk) 17:47, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Blank only. No good reason to delete. No good reason to debate all such things at MfD. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 20:26, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm not sure why you !vote to blank things on various MFDs. Could you please clarify where on Wikipedia it says that blanking is an alternative choice rather than, say, either keeping or deleting a page? Thanks. Killiondude (talk) 07:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Because it is the best course of action here, and in general for unoffensive pages, because the user may want access to his old pages or edit history
- because editors attempting administrative control of others' userspace is not desirable, noting that deletion offers no WP:PERFORMANCE performance benefit over blanking;
- To remind that effectively the same thing can have achieved without initiating a community discussion, that abandoned userspace can be cleaned up on sight (by blanking or redirecting), to discourage the cluttering an important forum with unimportant things (alternatively, if you can fix the problem by editing, then do so).
