Wikipedia:WikiProject Years/Review[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Years/Review (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Proposal to test community opinions regarding deletion. A whole batch of these types of pages was created in 2009, maybe when WikiProjects were more slightly active? The vast majority are completely unused.

Take for example this page - completely unused since creation in 2009; has a number of subpages that are also unedited. These pages:

  1. Create needless overhead for projects to collate, maintain, watch, update, etc.
  2. Are unnecessary, because there are existing venues for review (WP:PR, WP:FA) and requests for wikiproject involvement would be better placed on the main pages
  3. Are unwatched and unused
  4. Encourage a sense of wikiproject ownership; whereas actual reviews should be open to all who wish to participate

I have randomly selected this page and will also contact the relevant Wikiproject. I'd like to hear what other Wikipedians think. Tom (LT) (talk) 01:35, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
