IEEE 802.3az
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was speedy delete per CSD R2: Cross-namespace redirect from mainspace to userspace. --Taelus (talk) 17:51, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Delete, a redirect from mainspace to userspace. The page IEEE 802.3az was originally created as an article in mainspace. I prodded it earlier today. The creator then did a page-move (rather than just copying) of the page to his user-space, to User:Electron9/IEEE 802.3az. It is, of course, OK for him to work on improving the text in his userspace. However, the redirect itself should be deleted per item 5 in WP:RFD#DELETE as a cross-namespace redirect. Nsk92 (talk) 23:13, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Speedy Delete, tagged it with R2. Mainspace to Userspace is never allowed. Could also fall under G6 as a housekeeping clean-up after a move. --Taelus (talk) 15:37, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nominating "Bob dole memorial ocean" for deletion, this makes no sense whatsoever and the only google hit I get for the literal string is a comment on the wiki redirect Usrnme h8er (talk · contribs) 13:19, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Completely pointless redirect made by user with only two edits, the other of which is also pointless and concerns the Pacific Ocean. For what it is worth, Google now gives 101 hits, every one of which refers directly or indirectly to this Wikipedia redirect. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:28, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Films and television series surrounded by quotes. Confer WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2009 December 28#"it's a small world" and WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2009 December 28#"almanac of british politics". As with WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2009 December 29#"Alexander R. Bolling", quotation marks have no place around a name (or around almost any article title, for that matter). Illy conceived and in danger of setting precedent. A violation of Wikipedia:TITLE#Article title format. Most if not all are artefacts of pagemoves. Searching for something in quotation marks will turn up the same result anyhow (for example, searching for "United States" will take you straight to United States). (No works which actually use quotation marks in their names have been listed here.) — the Man in Question (in question) 04:50, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete having checked all the episodic redirects, there are better redirects in place/more likely search hits for all. Violate "Article title format". Josh Parris 05:21, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete I don't recall why I would've created a redirect for Til Death Do Us Par with quotes, but I agree there's no reason for it. Nightscream (talk) 08:27, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect left over from a page move. The article doesn't need a "(sociologist)" disambiguation, which makes this a relatively unlikely search term. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 04:44, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment, I've bypassed the only use in mainspace. There are quite a few hits per day going through it, let's see what removing that mainspace link to it does to the traffic. Josh Parris 05:00, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete as violations of Wikipedia:TITLE#Article title format; I was concerned about entries that appeared to be parts of series (specifically "Tests and Jests" - Jane and the Dragon - for which there is a correctly formatted redirect) but investigation reveals that my fears were unfounded. Josh Parris 04:41, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Oops, that's not a written work. Oh well. Still fits the rest. — the Man in Question (in question) 04:49, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Weak keep Artifacts of page moves aren't hurting anything, and the only precedent set is that if you put a quotation mark in the name, the article will get moved to the correct spot. Keep is only weak because if someone wants to waste their time deleting them all, go right ahead.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:35, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Pointless, as the search will work anyway. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:35, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete all, JamesBWatson is right that the search works fine with or without quotation marks—a fact I didn't know; but sure enough typing in "Zimbabwe" will take you straight to Zimbabwe though linking "Zimbabwe" won't). Glenfarclas (talk) 21:40, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Improper cross namespace redirect. MBisanz talk 03:14, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete per nom and the fact that the caps and lack of a definite article are implausible. — the Man in Question (in question) 03:22, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete as bad cross namespace redirect. This redirect is not needed to aid navigation either, as one presumes that the reader will find this template at the bottom of each relevant article, thus if they look up one, they have them all. --Taelus (talk) 10:13, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
