The Georgia-based transit authority is not the only use of the acronym, MARTA; in fact, it is not even the only transit authority to use MARTA. Per our articles the Mountain Area Regional Transit Authority has six routes and 163,000 passengers per year, while the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority has 132+ routes and 422,000 riders per day.
