The result of the discussion was keep. If the band article is deleted so will this, if not then the redirect will be of some use for the reasons elucidated below. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 21:57, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I previously prodded this article and it was deleted, and I stated that the subject did not have a suitable target because he was part of Overcast (a questionably notable band who we can't even confirm is active, ignoring the fact that it has a few bluelinked band members) and an early member of Killswitch Engage when they were not yet notable. Unless Overcast is deleted some point down the line, there's not a suitable redirect target for this. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 21:26, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the band is up for AFD. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Overcast (band) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:15, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Template:03

The result of the discussion was delete. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 21:50, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This was the result of a reverted page move of Template:Leeds Carnegie squad to a name that appears to be meaningless. That template was redirected to Template:Yorkshire Carnegie squad, and this was redirected to Template:3. Template:3 is an error message, not a template that is intended to be used; it's purpose is to detect errors in unnamed parameters, such as (({3|)) which should be (({3|))}. This redirect isn't useful as "03" is not a valid unnamed parameter - it would be a named parameter with a meaningless name. Peter James (talk) 20:52, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The template was moved to this name but has now been moved back; "04" appears to be a meaningless name. Peter James (talk) 20:52, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Polar opposite

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Polar opposite (disambiguation). Any discussion of diametrically opposed is best suited for a separate RfD. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 22:00, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to the Wiktionary definition. Not mentioned in and not relevant for the target article. The Wiktionary definition is the only thing relevant about this term. ToThAc (talk) 16:17, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Struck this option. See later note. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:06, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep in light of disam being created, Makes sense to keep now really. –Davey2010Talk 16:25, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
See the "In the social sciences" section of Polarization for the cases where people say "he's my polar opposite", implying some extremeness. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:36, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The multiple incoming links for Polar opposite are mainly for the figure of speech and not the band. So should it be a hatnote to polarization? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 03:20, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You make a good point about a hatnote being useful, though I remain unconvinced that anyone searching for that term would ever envisage arriving at the Polarization DAB page. Can a hatnote legitimately contain a cross-wiki link? If so, it really ought to point here. Nick Moyes (talk) 09:13, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've created Polar opposite (disambiguation). Note diametrically opposed also goes to antipodal point. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:26, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Canadian Girls in Training. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 21:54, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not in target article (was formerly, but without source or context), this is just any GUI and not notable for that article unless independently notable (which it currently is not either). Lordtobi () 10:12, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects to ((rfc)) that don't begin with the letters "rfc" (case insensitive) don't work at all (see Template:requestforcomment) ((3x|p))ery (talk) 03:40, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The nominators' explanation above is misleading as the redirect is fully functional. Regarding the other discussion linked to above, if a bot doesn't recognize the redirect, that's a bug in the bot that should be fixed. If the bot's author can't be bothered to fix the bot, it is the bot that must be ditched (however, it would be trivially easy to fix the bot, so there is even less reason to bend over towards a bot or its author). Bots exist to serve *us*, not the other way around.
