Nomination[edit]

PerryThePlatypusFan (talk · contribs) – My name is Alexandros Martinez, aka PerryThePlatypusFan, and I want adminship on Wikipedia, both domestically and internationally. I've been contributing my best for over two years now. If I earned administrator rights, then I'd make Wikipedia a better place. I make useful edits on the wiki. Whatever edits I make, are my business. Vote for me. Agent Perry 21:55, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate[edit]

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: If I had administrative rights, then I'd block vandals, or bad users, who make edits of bad faith.
2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
A: Fixing the broken links on some pages, and putting in thurough information in sections.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: On the Total Drama pages, two users reverted my edits for making Total Drama too American. I wish I can deal with that if I gained admin rights on Wikipedia (domestically and internationally).
Additional question from EatsShootsAndLeaves
4. As a follow-up to your answer to question 3, can you explain exactly how you would deal with that situation? Would you WP:BLOCK one or both editors, and why would you take that specific action
A: I would take swift action by blocking both users, and making the Total Drama pages half-Canadian, and half-American. The Total Drama Wiki did that. I would patrol the recent edits, so no one can revert that long string of edit, done by two users. That's my swift action.

Oppose[edit]
  1. Oppose. With 266 edits, you don't have enough experience or a long enough track record to determine if you understand Wikipedia policies sufficiently to use the tools appropriately. The answers to the questions are too vague to work out why you want them. Finally, the "domestically and internationally" comment leads me to believe you don't really understand how Wikipedia works. Thanks. QU TalkQu 22:11, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose per WP:NOTNOW. Recommend withdrawing at this time. --Rschen7754 22:16, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose per WP:NOTNOW. -- RP459 Talk/Contributions 22:21, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oppose. Not enough activeness or edits to show clear interpretition of policy. Mysterytrey 22:33, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Oppose per nomination, lack of editing experience and lack of knowledge of how Wikipedia works. Someday, maybe. Definitely not for at least 12 more months and a lot more edits. Peridon (talk) 22:35, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Oppose Sorry, but with just 287 edits in total over a span of 2 years, there is nothing to evaluate you on in terms of being an Administrator. Also your answer to question 3 seems you would take administrative actions against users who undid your edits in good faith, this is clearly unacceptable and wrong. Please read and understand Wikipedia:Not now, Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship and Wikipedia:What adminship is not. After considerable and satisfactory experience try again next year. TheGeneralUser (talk) 22:42, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Oppose Per WP:NOTNOW and unclear understanding of policy. Theopolisme TALK 22:44, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  8. Oppose In 2 years you have not even reached 300 edits. Your answer to #4 (as a follow up to 3) is not only wrong, it's scarey wrong: you may not use admin tools to further a content dispute you're involved in. Based on the fact that 2 editors apparently disagreed your edit, yet you still think you need to take action shows you have little understanding of WP:CONSENSUS. Let us know when you have a) read and understood the five pillars, and b) have reached an absolute minimum of 5,000 edits. Sadly, WP:NOTNOW doesn't even apply right now dangerouspanda 22:45, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
