Nomination[edit]

Slon02 (talk · contribs) – Hello everyone, I am nominating myself for adminship. I wish to serve Wikipedia more and on a higher level than before. I am currently a rollbacker and am participating mainly in the AfC Wikiproject and in fighting vandalism. Slon02 (talk) 22:00, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Questions for the candidate[edit]

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: I intent to participate in continued anti-vandalism and taking care of copyright problems. In addition to this, I intent to review pages tagged for speedy deletion and assisting with the overall administrative backlog.
2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
A: My best contributions to Wikipedia would have to be fighting against vandalism, which has been the primary focus of my time at Wikipedia. For some time I have been using Huggle (and going through the recent changes list before I used Huggle) and reverting vandalism. In addition to this, I have also focused on the AfC Wikiproject and on finding copyright problems, especially with images.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: I do not think that I have gotten into many conflicts over editing in the past. There were a few cases where I was wrong in my actions, and I fixed them as soon as I found out that I was wrong. I have never really gotten into an argument before- all conflicts that I have taken part in were resolved quickly without arguing.

Discussion[edit]

Support[edit]
  1. Moral support. Well intentioned, certainly and I trust you, but I'm afraid you don't have sufficient experience for the community to determine that you know what you're doing. Besides, adminship isn't as fun as it looks, trust me. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:00, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  2. (edit conflict) Moral support: Continue editing well and you'll be ready later.--mono 23:01, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  3. Moral Support Largely per HJ and Mono. Give it a few more months and you'll pass. RFA is about if the community trusts you to have the extra buttons. I do trust you now but I'm afraid that you'll need just a bit more experience before you should go up for adminship again. Try at the end of summer like September-October and then you'll be a good better candidate :)--White Shadows you're breaking up 23:27, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oppose[edit]
  1. Oppose insufficient experience in admin related portions of Wikipedia for me to support at this time. -- RP459 Talk/Contributions 22:21, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  2. Oppose per WP:NOTNOW; not enough experience so far on Wikipedia. I look forward to supporting you in a future RFA, however. MC10 (TCGBL) 22:25, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  3. Oppose at this point the candidate needs to have more idea about notability per Frantic Assembly and Bigshot Hotshot, also has not had much experience in tagging for deletion. Also for this page: Slon02. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:33, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  4. not yet, but keep up the good work —Tommy2010 22:40, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  5. Oppose but with moral support. Great contributor, but fewer than 2,000 edits just isn't enough experience, so WP:NOTNOW - I look forward to supporting a future RfA -- Boing! said Zebedee 22:45, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
  6. Oppose at this time. User seems to have good intent, but not enough experience. WP:NOTNOW Shannon ♫ (talk) 23:10, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
