Bugman94 - Case created from Unsorted Noticeboard[edit]

Clerk note: This case was created after a report at the Unsorted Noticeboard, located here. It was reported by ST47. The checkuser confirmed all were the same user. GrooveDog (talk) 16:45, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bugman94[edit]

Evidence

ZapBoy (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki) was created three days after the confirmed sock MAJ5 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki) was blocked. On ZapBoy's, userpage, he claims that his name is Mike, and on MAJ5's userpage, he claimed that his name is Michael. They both made very simalar signature shop requests (see User talk:Lights/Signature shop/MAJ5 and User talk:Lights/Signature shop/ZapBoy). ZapBoy has made simalar edits as MAJ5. Their monobook.js are no different (see User:MAJ5/monobook.js and User:ZapBoy/monobook.js). Cheers, Lights 15:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 Confirmed. MAJ5 = ZapBoy. Bugman94 is stale. Voice-of-All 23:57, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

N96[edit]

N96 is most definitely a sock in himself. He has a working monobook within his first 2 weeks, he is SNOW-closing RFAs and was created a day after WikiMan53 was indefed blocked. His name is similar to the conventions used by some sockpuppeteers: A portmanteau of the names of well-known users and seems to have same love of numbers at the end of the username that WikiMan has. SparkleMan has been discussed on #wikipedia-en-admins by Riana for being suspicious; that is to say, he has installed TWINKLE as his 4th edit. SparkleMan has also redirected his userpage to his talk page similarly to what N96 did before Majorly tagged it, but that is not compelling.

A summary: N96 had a working monobook withing 4 days and so does SparkleMan. N96 has redirected his talk page like SparkleMan. N96 was created a day after WikiMan was indefed as a sock. SparkleMan was created well into the conversation with N96 regarding his apparent sock-ness. I see a connection, do you? « ANIMUM » 21:11, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's also probably worth pointing out that SparkleMan (talk · contribs) made this edit to the relatively niche area of Wikipedia:Request an account on his first day of editing. This is a page on which a number of socks of the sockpuppeteer Bugman94 (talk · contribs) have previously contributed to. Will (aka Wimt) 21:21, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added User:PNiddy to this case. I am worried about this edit as being his first edit. Miranda 17:17, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted Check this sock, MAJ5 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki). His userpage is very similar to Bugman's. I am confident that he is a sock, but I really need CU assistance in order for admins not to make any blocking mistakes. Thanks! Also, please block any IPs if necessary. Miranda 15:35, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Delisted they just ran a check on said person, nothing came back. Kwsn(Ni!) 16:07, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My apologizes, I was basing my actions off this. Kwsn(Ni!) 17:41, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's nice to see I wasn't completely wrong. I just didn't have a direction to go in (as I pointed out at the time). MSJapan 20:26, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bugman94[edit]

Bugman94 created a recently blocked sock, named User:SuperBall53. SuperBall53 used ((helpme)) in order to find help in creating a bot [1]. He was later blocked due to checkuser evidence about him being a block sock of WikiMan53 (due to circumstantial evidence provided by a separate checkuser). Later, on IRC, we saw that his IP address was bugman94, and furthered the connection to Bugman94. Anyway, after SuperBall53 was blocked on the 8th, seen here, a new user User:N96 was created on the ninth seen here. One of the interesting notes, that I seen is that N96's bot seen here was created by N96 and wasn't posted on WP:BOT for trial or any inquiries of the bot's function per the requests for approval. Also, it should be taken note that the N96 username can come from a combination of User:N and User:Real96, my old username. Miranda 14:48, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 Likely. WikiMan53 = SuperBall53. Bugman94's edits are stale. N96 is  Possible. Voice-of-All 17:48, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Bugman94 possibly?[edit]

User:RainbowSprinkles was blocked as a sockpuppet of Bugman94, but I see no confirmation through RFCU. The account made a few edits similar in nature to that of User:Añoranza (Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Añoranza), moving titles of military operations to a non-military name, as well as making similar POV edits. Añoranza is currently at RFAr over these types of edits. I doubt that Añoranza is Bugman94, but he made this edit, which leads me to question how he found RainbowSprinkles' talk page (most people don't check the talk pages of other users who make a few edits here and there).

If RainbowSprinkles != Bugman94, then there is a case for unblocking. Similarly, if Añoranza is found to be sockpuppeting/a sockpuppet of a blocked user, similar action should be taken, in light of his RfAr. NSLE 15:17, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note. In any case, Bugman94 is certainly not a very good editor. He's move-vandalized and attacked other users and RainbowSprinles seems to be fond of moving pages. Besides, Checkuser will give positive if this is true, given that they both indeed used the same computer (and thus the same ip) -- Drini 23:46, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note I amoungst others suspected User:RainbowSprinkles to be User:Bugman94 based on general behaviour, such as instantly finding the ((helpme)) tag and using it in a disruptive manner. --pgk(talk) 16:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Note I've added two extras who were blocked as sockpuppets based on similar editing behaviour. re: The item pointed to by Drini above, it should be noted that this is not the first time Bugman94 has claimed from one of his socks to be a neighbour... --pgk(talk) 16:16, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed. Bugman = RainbowSprinkles = Fudge12 = a host of other sockpuppets. Anoranza does not appear to be involved enough to rise to the level of a separate check. Essjay (TalkConnect) 16:29, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:Bugman94[edit]

This seems to be the 5th puppet now, constantly abuses ((helpme)) and generally annoying. -- 9cds(talk) 15:15, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed. Without a doubt, all of the following are the same user:

Blocking the IP for a month. Essjay (TalkConnect) 15:55, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
