Zeq[edit]

User:199.203.179.197 has edited User:Zeq's user page (as opposed to his talk page). It also edited Operation Summer Rains while Zeq was banned from the article. Zeq is suspected of having circumvented his ban. Homey 17:17, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice fishing. It is not me. I never used sockpuppets. Zeq 18:09, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
199.203.179.197 has edited your user page and a page you are banned from. It also originates from Israel which is where you have said you are editing from. Merits investigation for possible ban evasion. Homey 18:16, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note: The IP did add "[" marks to a link on Zeq's user page, but that is the only suspicious evidence I can find. I also don't see and abuse by this IP. Voice-of-All 22:00, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the IP was Zeq then by editing Operation Summer Rains[1] he violated a ban that was in place against him at the time[2].Homey 22:05, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If it was, but don't see near enough evidence to pull the IPs. There may be a good reason, but it has not yet been presented, and I can't find one. Perhaps you can wait to see if the IP makes more edits.Voice-of-All 22:09, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's rather unlikely there will be more edits now that I've raised an alarm about it. Homey 22:12, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Running the IP through hostip.info shows it's based in Herzlia, Israel. Zeq has stated he's in Israel. Homey 01:40, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An admin (not me) has banned Zeq for sockpuppetry over this. It would be prudent to run checkuser so that the ban can be lifted if checkuser exonerates Zeq.Homey 17:18, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Red X Unrelated As the editor was blocked, I've run a CheckUser on this. The IPs have nothing in common, they're not even from the same city. Furthermore, 199.203.179.197's English is excellent; he/she writes well, using good grammar and spelling. Zeq's is quite the opposite. Jayjg (talk) 17:26, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have unblocked Zeq. I would prefer it, however, if a neutral editor could review the checkuser findings as Jayjg cannot be said to be neutral in this matter. Homey 17:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've reviewed Jay's findings, and they are correct. All happy now? Kelly Martin (talk) 21:24, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

193.216.58.194/Zeq[edit]

User:Zeq is banned from editing Israeli apartheid. Several minutes after he posted this on Talk:Israeli apartheid a corrsponding edit was made to the article by User:193.216.58.194 - the user's sole edit to Wikipedia. The edit includes grammatical mistakes similar to those Zeq typically makes. If this is Zeq he has violated his ban.Homey 16:54, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Then you should have no objection to a usercheck being done on you and the anon IP. Homey 18:25, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
