Suspected sockpuppets
Appears to be the same person who created multiple accounts, removed content, moved to AfD an article, !voted multiple times in support, and supposedly "retired", also removing the warnings already accumulated. gidonb (talk) 02:25, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As correctly pointed out by Bbb23, User:Peaceworld355612 and User:Jec_bes do not have a relationship to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ali al-Jarrah. They were later added to this SPI since sharing the removal of information from Ali al-Jarrah. In other words, suspected puppets can be related to the article, to the AFD, or both. gidonb (talk) 14:30, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies, could you still take this late note into account? Thank you for all your efforts, also to Bbb23. And yes, adding diffs would have been better yet. gidonb (talk) 14:33, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All five are suspected to be the very same person. Whether that is proven is for others to decide. Please encourage users to raise such suspicions or WP may crush under the number of users that do as they please. I'm presently part of another SPI, where I did detect but was hesitant to submit because of this kind of back and forth. gidonb (talk) 14:46, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, no! Left you feedback and food for thought, just as you did for me. Of course, we all contribute to WP! The source of suspicion for Peaceworld355612 and Jec_bes was initially missing and later added. Beyond the shared articles, for Peaceworld355612 there also is a similar name to one of the ring and for Jec_bes there is also a vandalism warning for this very page. Thanks for all your work! gidonb (talk) 16:32, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Syrianpoet94 needs to renamed/merged into this one. S0091 (talk) 14:02, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

- CheckUser requested - This is confusing. For the record, the article at issue is Ali al-Jarrah. and the AfD is Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ali al-Jarrah, which was created by Peacefulparrot5 (it's unsigned). Jec bes, who is the oldest of the listed users, did not vote at the AfD, they just made one edit at the article, and Gidonb provides no explanation or diffs why they were listed. The same thing is true for Peaceworld355612. Also, I noticed that Drmies blocked Jakemitch9485 as a sock of Syrianpoet94. With all that, I'm requesting that a CU sort this out, whether it's Drmies, if he wishes, or someone else. Bbb23 (talk) 14:01, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Thank you Bbb23; I'll have a look. You have a good point re:Jec bes and Peaceworld, and I see no reason to check them but we'll see what turns up elsewhere. For the record, I did leave a (short) note on Syrianpoet's talk page, since removed; I didn't feel like blocking them for what at the time seemed like a minor thing. Drmies (talk) 14:19, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, Syrianpoet and Peacefulparrot5 are confirmed and now blocked, and they are confirmed again with Jakemitch, for the sake of redundancy. I did not look at the other accounts and found no connection. No comment on the IP, of course. User:Gidonb, I appreciate the report but please read Bbb's note. Drmies (talk) 14:28, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- User:Gidonb, sure--but what Bbb was saying, I think, is that there really was not a good reason to include those two names--but I can't speak for Bbb who might not put it that strongly. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 14:41, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- User:Gidonb, please don't suggest that clerks and admins and CUs are contributing to the demise of our beautiful project by saying that suspicions need to be based on at least some kind of evidence. Particularly for CU there are privacy issues. Drmies (talk) 16:10, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Clerk assistance requested: - Please move case to Jakemitch9485, which is the oldest account by about 23 minutes, tag the three confirmed accounts, and close. Bbb23 (talk) 15:23, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Done. Closing. Thanks, Spicy (talk) 22:11, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Syrianpoet, who was blocked by @Drmies: as couple days ago for socking, had created Draft:Salwa Jarrah which was blanked by the IP today. Levantineliterature, an account created today, created a duplicate draft under a different title, Draft:Salwa al-Jarrah. Requesting CU to check for sleepers. S0091 (talk) 15:22, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Adding 199.111.212.92 who tried to merge Ali al-Jarrah, which was the outcome of the AfD started by Syrianpoet. S0091 (talk) 15:34, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

- I've blocked Levantineliterature21. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 18:59, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Levantine is them. No sleepers immediately visible and No comment with respect to IP address(es). Spicy (talk) 22:09, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
- Accounts are blocked and tagged, IPs are likely stale and a rangeblock looks like it would have collateral damage. Requested actions completed, closing The WordsmithTalk to me 01:54, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
