Description[edit]

A project to coordinate work on feminism-related articles. This is actually an upgrade request, as WikiProject Gender Studies/Feminism Task Force already exists but has outgrown the parent project and should be spun off into an independent child project. 13. I support this. I'm more interested in gender studies than feminism though, so I'm unlikely to join. --Alynna (talk) 10:51, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  16. Strong support. I've seen a need for a feminism-specific WikiProject for a long time. I tried to gather interest for such a project a few years ago but failed miserably. The feedback I got dwelt on it being perceived as an advocacy group rather than an effort to improve articles in this area. Argh. Really wasn't my goal. I'll help. Discussion[edit]

This project was founded as a taskforce of WikiProject Gender Studies. I think it would be a good idea, however, for us to switch to being a child project rather than a taskforce. Firstly, this project operates mostly independently of WikiProject Gender Studies. I think most of the editors involved in this project tend to think of it as independent as there isn't much cross-communication with the main project as you see with other taskforces. Secondly, we miss out on a lot of services that are provided specifically for WikiProjects. Getting things like stats and alerts is a pain to set up if you're technically part of another WikiProject and live on a sub-page. Moving to our own page would make this much simpler. If there is consensus for such a move, I would be happy to handle all the heavy lifting. I can re-tag all of our articles with a bot and fix everything else by hand. Thoughts? Hi Kaldari, looks to me like there is support for the idea. I need to look though my articles to see if there are some I started in March for US Women's History Month and neglected to label. FloNight♥♥♥♥ 18:41, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I'll go ahead and make the template. Stay tuned... Kaldari (talk) 18:46, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
