Course objective: To learn about mineral, water, and food resources, in the context of economic and environmental consequences of their extraction and use; and the differences between concepts of sustainability of resource utilization in the short term (e.g., market cycles, electoral cycles), longer term (decades to centuries) and ultimate sustainability of industrial society. The Wikipedia assignment will be to choose one element or commodity and either make substantial edits to or write entirely new sections of the Wikipedia articles on that subject.

This is a major milestone. By Feb 20 everyone should have completed a first draft of their article.
Now that you've improved your draft based on others' feedback, it's time to move your work live - to the "mainspace."
Resource: Editing Wikipedia, page 13
Now's the time to revisit your text and refine your work. You may do more research and find missing information; rewrite the lead section to represent all major points; reorganize the text to communicate the information better; or add images and other media.
Your article must be out of the sandbox by now.
Add links to your article.
Continue to expand and improve your work, and format your article to match Wikipedia's tone and standards. Remember to contact your Wikipedia Expert at any time if you need further help!
We must see substantial editing since last week.
It's the final two weeks to develop your article.
Everyone should have finished all of the work they'll do on Wikipedia, and be ready for grading. The article will be remarked in its entirety.
