Students will perform a set of laboratory experiments covering areas of biochemistry such as protein analysis, enzyme purification, enzymatic assays, recombinant DNA and the polymerase chain reaction. The Wikipedia assignment will provide students with an opportunity to conduct secondary research in library databases and to contribute findings and sources to Wikipedia articles in the discipline.
Welcome to your Wikipedia assignment's course timeline. This page guides you through the steps you'll need to go through to complete the assignment. It includes links to the training modules required for this course. The weekly dates are recommended guidelines for staying on track to complete the assignment by December 5th.

Select one of the biochemistry stubs from this page: Biochemistry stubs
Once you have decided on an article stub, begin your research. Use the Hunter College Libraries databases to find information you want to add to the stub. You should locate two peer review sources on which to base your contribution(s). Do not use your textbook!
Reach out to your Wikipedia contact at Hunter if you have questions.

Everyone has begun writing their contributions in their sandbox.
It's the final week to develop your article.
Continue to expand and improve your work. Your contribution should be well written in your own words and include footnotes for the sources you use to back up your claims. Once you're satisfied that your draft is complete it's time to move your work to the stub in the Mainspace.
By December 5, everyone should have finished all of the work they'll do on Wikipedia, and be ready for grading.
