This course deals with the various human diseases that are caused by misfolding of proteins. The diseases include genetic, neurodegenrative, and defective ion channels. Some of the examples are cystic fibrosis, Alzheimer's, Parkinson, and several rare diseases. Each student in the course will be assigned to present their report on any one of the following topics that are part of this course: 'Role of enzymes in medicine', 'Phenylketonuria', 'Marfan's syndrome', 'Sickle cell anemia', 'Bartter syndrome', 'Polycystic kidney disease', 'Dent's disease', 'Muscular dystrophy', 'Myasthenia gravis', etc.
