What is "a reasonable time" for closing a CCI?[edit]

This header has recently been edited repeatedly by an editor who has recently had a CCI opened regarding their contributions; and who has also repeatedly refactored, on the CCI page itself, edits made when requesting the CCI.

This editor is now edit-warring to try to include in this header "three years" as a "reasonable time" within which the project should aim to complete a CCI.

I believe this is not a sensible or reasonable inclusion in the header because the age of the oldest CCI is purely a contingent fact. We may all have different definitions of what a "reasonable time" may be (we may all want more help in dealing with the workload caused by editors who repeatedly infringe others' copyright), but this type of header should not specify a "minimum" nor a "maximum".

The edit-warring is also WP:POINTy, in that if the editor in question wished the CCI regarding their contributions to be closed faster, they could fix WP:COPYPASTE and WP:PARAPHRASE problems in their contributions, and then mark those problems as fixed on the CCI. I informed the editor of this quite some time ago.

On these grounds, I will revert the latest of these edit-warring changes. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:19, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your recent contribution to improving the accuracy, completeness, and clarity of the CCI process documentation. I look forward to collaborating with you further on this. Hugh (talk) 22:58, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
