Re: Point #4, I don't see the problem with that in the context of discussions, because no-one will be navigating discussion pages simply by using a list of links ... they should be actually *reading* the discussions! Of course changing the order of the links would be a nightmare for accessibility purposes, as it would be for sighted people, but using one half of the link for the user page and the other half for the talk page does have its uses. For example, I can find out when people have been talking about me using the Wikipedia search feature. It might be a good idea to ask for comments about this draft at Wikipedia talk:Signatures.
