Notes

  1. In 1964, Takhtajan proponed that clesses including Monocotyledons, be formally named wi the suffix -atae, so that the principle o teepification resultit in Liliatae for monocotyledons.[6] The proposal wis formally descrived in 1966 bi Cronquist, Takhtajan an Zimmermann,[1] frae that is derived the descriptor "liliates".
  2. Tropicos gies an earlier authority, J.H. Schaffn. 1911[7]
  3. Cronquist[1] attributes this term to De Candolle as DC. 1818 Syst. 1: 122[12]
