Giovanni Bellini (Italian pronunciation: [dʒoˈvanni belˈliːni];[1][2] c. 1430 – 26 November 1516)[3] was an ItalianRenaissancepainter based in Venice. His father Jacopo and his brother Gentile were also painters, as was his brother-in-law Mantegna.
Bellini used a coloristic style exemplified by his use of clear oil paints, deep colors, and detailed shadings. His atmospheric landscapes influenced Venetian painting, particularly the work done by his pupils, Giorgione and Titian.
