Joe Linus Barton (born September 15, 1949) is an American Republican politician. He represented Texas's 6th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1985 to 2019.[1] He is a member of the Tea Party Caucus.
Barton supported deregulation of the electricity and natural gas industries,[2] and serves as vice-chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committees.[3]
Barton was divorced from his first wife in 1992, remarried in 2002, and divorced from his second wife in 2015.[4][5] He has four children.
In November 2017, nude selfie pictures of Barton surfaced online, which he acknowledged were authentic, and which he apologized for to his constituents.[6] An anonymous Twitter user posted the photo of Barton.[7] Many people believe that Barton is a victim of "revenge porn" (the act of posting sexual-related media without the person's permission).[7]
