Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (transl. Never say goodbye), also abbreviated as KANK, is a 2006 Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama movie written and directed by Karan Johar and produced by his mother Hiroo Yash Johar, in her debut, under the Dharma Productions banner. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta and Kirron Kher.
The movie released worldwide on 11 August 2006 and it received positive reviews and was a success internationally, especially in the United States. It became the highest grossing Indian movie of all time overseas when it was released. The movie was played in over 1,200 cinemas worldwide,[5] and it grossed a worldwide total of ₹2.26 billion ($37 million).[4]
Dev (Shah Rukh Khan) and Maya (Rani Mukherjee) are married, but not to each other. A chance encounter brings Dev and Maya together, and they feel a strange attraction that soon develops into a close friendship. As they spend more time together, they begin to re-examine their marriages and face up to the dissatisfaction that lurks just beneath the surface.
