Medical Lake is a city in Spokane County, Washington. The population was 4,874 at the 2020 census.[2] Medical Lake has a psychiatric hospital named Eastern State Hospital.
The city of Medical Lake was founded in 1890. The city is named after a nearby lake. The Spokane Native American tribe which lived in the area for a long time, thought the water from the lake could heal sickness and injuries. White settlers who moved to the area in the 1870s, sold salts from the lake as medicine.
