Star Wars is a platform video game. It was published by Namco and was developed by Namco and Piccari Games.[1]
The game was released on December 4, 1987 and was only released in Japan. The game was also only released for the Family Computer.[2]
In the game, the player controls Luke Skywalker and they somewhat play through the events of the 1987 movie Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. However, a lot of the scenes in the game are changed and different from the movie. Some changes include Skywalker piloting the Millennium Falcon and during the Battle against Darth Vader, he will change into a bunch of different animals.[3]
The game was given mixed reviews by game critics. Famitsu gave the game a 30 out of 40. Family Computer Magazine would give the game a 18.60 out of 30.[4][5]
