The Purple Rose of Cairo is a 1985 American romantic fantasy comedy movie directed by Woody Allen and starring Mia Farrow, Jeff Dainels, Danny Aiello, John Wood, Edward Herrmann, Deborah Rush, Zoe Caldwell, Milo O'Shea, Dianne Wiest. It was distributed by Orion Pictures and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1986.
