The Terry Fox Story is an Canadian-American biographical movie. It was released on May 22, 1983 in North America. It was directed by Ralph L. Thomas.[1]

The movie focuses on the life of Terry Fox, an amputee athlete and cancer research activist. It follows Fox's Marathon of Hope run as he travels from St. John's, Newfoundland across Canada to help raise money for cancer research.

The movie recieved mixed and positive reviews from critics.[3][4] Fox's family did not like the movie because of the way they made Terry to be short-tempered. [5]

The movie won in six categories at the 5th Genie Awards. It won Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Sound, Best Sound Editing, and Best Film Editing.[6]
