Malhotra is an Indian surname of the Dhai Ghar sub-group of Khatris from Punjab.[1] Malhotra is a modified Punjabi language version of Mehrotra, which is the Sanskrit word for the hotra (priest) for Mihir (the sun) or the Vedic god Mitra.[2]
