As much as I love Carrboro, JT was not raised there. The Morgan Creek neighborhood, where Ike Taylor owned acreage adjoining a small subdivision between 15-501, now Fordham Blvd, and the Morgan Creek itself, is in Chapel Hill and has been for years. The address is 618 Morgan Creek Road, Chapel Hill, NC here's a story with a picture of the house http://www.chapelhillmemories.com/cat/4/111
If there is no discussion, I'll edit the page to correct this. --Smalljones (talk) 19:24, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Knowing nothing more than owning the album, I can't really contribute, but James Taylor's turn as God in Randy Newman's Faust should probably be added to the entry. [03:24, September 4, 2006 69.162.59.13]
How about picture with Mr. Taylor smiling? He looks so bummed out in the current picture. [04:23, February 10, 2007 207.161.1.103]
This pic is from over 10 years ago! How bout a newer, more flattering pic someone?! :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.213.234.181 (talk) 04:25, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
i dont know who started this ridiculous policy of always posting the most current picture of celebrities at the top of the page. both Taylor's accomplishments and fame apexed when he was much younger. i think half the people who edit Wiki dont even know about the topics they are editing -- it's all about using their Wiki expertise.
Check The Beatles' miscellanea to see if there is anything in it you can use. A lot of 'miscellanea' needs to be trimmed (as linked articles are improved) so please feel free to use anything before certain sections get zapped into the ether... ThE bEaTLeS aka andreasegde 16:30, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
The second sentence of "1970s success" states that the Suzanne mentioned in "Fire and Rain" died from suicide. However, the "Fire and Rain" article states she was killed in a plane crash... Fustigate314159 02:59, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
It seems some people here [1] object to including the mention that Taylor was named Blender Magazine's wussiest rocker even though: 1) IT HAPPENED and 2) IT'S SOURCED. Wikipedia is NOT just for good news, everything about Taylor as it pertains to him as a musician and public figure is relevant for inclusion. I happen to like Taylor very much, but I am not going to sugar-coat the fact that Blender doesn't like him. What I wrote about it is not misleading or subjective in any way [2] and I'm putting it back. Wikipedia readers can draw their own subjective conclusions about Blender, but mere fact that the incident is reported here is hardly misleading. Wl219 00:17, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
Regardless of whether or not he was voted as a wuss by Blender, should genre really read "Thumbsucker blues" and "wuss rock"? 124.191.128.107 12:35, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Didn't I see him performing at the Oscars this year? Would someone like to include this information under the appropriate heading? Mornington 19:49, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
I've corrected the information on the school from which Taylor graduated. The article (and the cited reference) had incorrectly identifed Chapel Hill High School, when in fact, he attended and graduated from McLean's Arlington School. — Aldaron • T/C 16:35, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
There isn't enough information on JT's relationships.. how they came about, ended, etc. Unless I missed it somewhere, I don't see any mention of when Taylor's marriage to Simon ended and why, and then the next thing I see is that he has wed for the 3rd time. What happened in between? Who and when was #2? Likewise, his friendship with Carole King and connection to her isn't really touched upon. Where and how did Taylor decide upon a surrogate mother for children when he & his wife are so far along in years, particularly after Simon's complaints that Taylor had not "been there" enough for Ben and Sally? (I'm not complaining, but trying to point out some gaps in this article.. I was surprised that it was so short on info when JT's career has been so long).leahtwosaints (talk) 14:47, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
should include a few detailed lines on his lead part in this classic movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.164.245.248 (talk) 06:27, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Are you certain about your recent revert of my edit to James Taylor? My change of meaning was intentional: my reading of the materials (and understanding of the campus and hospital) is that the part of McLean where Taylor spent his time was, in fact, the Arlington School. Was there a different part of the campus where he was housed? I can't find one identified in any of the cited references. — Aldaron • T/C 03:30, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Should where He currently resides be discussed in the second sentance of the intro? Sounds odd to me. MKUltra —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.246.235.134 (talk) 03:32, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
In the section James Taylor Colaborators, the "following ... complete list of the musicians who have played or sung with James Taylor either in concert or on recordings" wasn't (complete, that is; I just added a name) and probably still isn't (what are the odds that I picked up the only omission?) Note that the statement does not limit the list to those who've played or sung in his (Taylor's) concerts or on his recordings.
I added Paul Simon, as he, Taylor, and Art Garfunkel performed Sam Cooke's "Wonderful World" together on Garfunkel's album Water Mark. So, I also took the word "complete" out; it seemed presumptuous. Joe Avins (talk) 00:45, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
According to JT's bio on Pandora Radio:
I know Pandora is not a WP:RS but I was curious which of his albums did not go Gold ? Anybody have a source ? 66.97.213.202 (talk) 21:46, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
James Taylor has made more than one appearance on Sesame Street, but I haven't done a proper survey. Can I kick off a more assiduous researcher by mentioning him singing 'Up on A Roof' and 'Oh Telly, Won't You Come home Telly' (sp.?). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.44.48.195 (talk) 21:18, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
It seems to me that there should be more about Taylor's marriages and family life (esp. Carly Simon)-- wouldn't hurt to get a photo of her. She is a recluse, but to my knowledge, there's only one photo of her in any language Wikipedia and Commons! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leahtwosaints (talk • contribs) 13:33, 14 May 2013

JT's Singles list or a link to a sequential list is missing, Also when each single article is listed with it's predecessor to the left and subsequent single to the right of of the current single article and this chronology is broken at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_and_Rain_(song) and jumps backward in time to 1969 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolina_in_My_Mind. This error time loops back to the 1st single and not to Fire and Rains predecessor Elsnod (talk) 13:23, 22 August 2020 (UTC)elsnod
I have a comment on that song's talk page expressing preference for the old (1968) version. The bowed strings first heard at 1:08 into that version make it special. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.47 (talk) 19:32, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

It says that the deaths of Dennis Wilson and John Belushi spurred James to kick his heroin habit, but this occurred in September of 1983, and Dennis didn't die for another four months, so how could that be the case if Dennis was still living at the time? 60.240.8.249 (talk) 12:23, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
If the motorcycle accident happened on the evening of July 20, 1969, then JT would have a nearly-unique perspective on "One small step for [a] man" which transpired later that evening. Most everyone else in the free world was watching the TV. The time given in the article is not precise enough to make this interpretation. -- ke4roh (talk) 19:00, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
I don’t know why the paragraph on John Lennon’s death is in the ‘Career’ section. I think it would make more sense if it was in ‘Family and personal life’ section. Scooch Cubing (talk) 08:49, 26 September 2021 (UTC)
I removed the entry under "Awards and recognition" that said "2014: Emmy Award for The Mormon Tabernacle Choir Presents an Evening with James Taylor[1]". This show really did win a regional Emmy (specifically, a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award) but James Taylor personally was not among the recipients; this can be verified at [3] where the award is listed as follows:

This sounds like a song written for a psychotherapist. I have always wondered if he wrote it for someone who treated him during one of his psych admissions. 2601:41:C281:39C0:8EB2:1DB0:20E0:BA0F (talk) 16:12, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
@TheScotch: In the 17:05, 8 March 2023 revision of James Taylor, you changed the statement that James Taylor's cover of Jimmy Jones's and Otis Blackwell's "Handy Man" hit number 1 to instead state that Jimmy Jones's and Otis Blackwell's "Handy Man" hit number 1.
This is not only highly misleading, it completely misses the point. The number 1 hit was a result of James Taylor's rendition of this cover. Please clarify if I am missing something. Fabrickator (talk) 01:25, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
