I just created this article. It's my first outside of adding redirects. As TmoUSA just announced the g2 there is going to be confusion between this and the htc hero that was released in europe as the g2 touch. No specs have been announced but there is plenty of rumor on it already. I dont feel right adding that rumored info to the artical because 1) it will change quickly 2) its very sporadic. Currently the phone is rumored to be a HTC phone but the exact model name is not known yet. I suggest as soon as the model is confirmed we should follow the format of the previous HTC phone articles and make an article called "HTC -insert model name here-" and have this redirect to it. I have no idea what to do about rumor. My instinct is not to add it so im only using what t-mobile has said officaly. I would agree with this as the only HTC phone that does not follow this is the MyTouch 3G Slide a.k.a. the HTC Espresso. The status quo seems to be whatever page or name gets released first. In most cases it has been the HTC model name known before the carrier specific marketing name. But I see no reason to not. However before we get into a merge war with a future vision article, I'm going ahead and setting up a redirect to this article that way the change will be easy. The device is unknown because the official site only gives a preliminary announcement. The article may be insignificant. And please remove the TM symbols and add in the title of the reference to improve your writing style, don't direct copy the style of the advertisement-like website. On the other hand, I have alternated my Android template. You should type "G2" rather than "T-Mobile G2", the name of the manufacturer should be omitted. Please remember.

There is no evidences that the G2 and HTC Vision is the same device. Citation needed on the specifications (QWERTY keyboard? Android 2.1? Hi-resolution? AMOLED?). I'm adding back in the bands that i put in before hand. My justification for this is that these are the bands under which TmobileUSA operates in the US. See the T-Mobile USA article under the '"Radio Frequency Summary"' (for reference these are GSM 850 and 1900, although the HSPA+ operates not on these bands.) I think it is important to note that the phone does not work on 4G network technologies, the most common in the US being LTE and WiMAX. The phone works on TmoUSA's upgraded HSPA network which gives it speeds that could be considered 4G but it is strictly a 3G network technology. Some have called these upgraded networks 3.5G. This article is almost a duplicate of HTC Desire Z. Perhaps they should be merged?

Hardware: Storage (supported by source 9) potentially conflicts with Criticisms: False Advertising (supported by sources 10, and 11.)

Hardware claims that the American version has 4GB of storage in SLC mode (which reduces it to 2 GB but increases reliability and speed), where False Advertising claims that the 2GB limit is due to partitioning. When the phone was new there were many theories and speculation about a shadow partition, etc, but these were never proven; The correct answer appears to be that the device is mostly in SLC mode, with a small section in MLC mode (as described in source 9.)

In reviewing sources 9, 10, and 11 none of them currently entertain the notion that the 2 GB limit has anything to do with partitioning. The referenced sources do not fully support the statements made by the heading and the text. While there may be a difference between marketing materials and available memory, the cited references only support that 2GB of storage is available to the user. There are no reference to advertisements, brochures or PR materials that demonstrate T-Mobile making an incorrect statement. Neither source supports a charge of "false advertising" - that seems to be original research - neither those words nor similar concepts appear in either source. I am also concerned that one "source", an XDA developers wiki page, does not meet the criteria of a reliable source. The information may be correct, but it needs reliable sourcing and shouldn't state a legal conclusion of "false advertising" without citing action by courts or regulatory bodies.

As an owner of a G2 who recently ran into this problem, it should be written that the G2 has only 1 UMTS frequency band, which means that it is severely limited in terms of where it can access data networks.^[3] The Desire Z, on the other hand, has support for the 900 MHz UMTS band, which allows it much more international scope. --Elakhna 18:11, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
