Hi Electric Wombat! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
You're doing a great job, however I want to remind you to give the vandals some warnings. Thank you! buffbills7701 01:12, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Roy Peterson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page BC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Regarding your reversal of my edit on the land banking page: it wasn't fixing content, but poor comma use. Most of the edits I do are fixing bad writing: are those fine? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2620:101:F000:700:A02F:91E3:B749:DBB6 (talk) 15:12, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
Hello, I'm A.amitkumar. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Camera, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. A m i t 웃 16:48, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
Hello, sorry for writing here if it is the wrong place. I don't know how to message you (if that is possible). Letting you know I have replied to your contact. Erm... let me know somehow. thanks. Hey there, orry if this is the wrong way ton contact you. What would be a good example of a similar page to model on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.49.204.205 (talk) 03:12, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
Hey, I don't think my contribution is not constructive. People used to post controversial things about the celebs, which happened in their professional and personal life. If they can post so what about my whole info. He is so active & famous that his parody is also getting famous because of him only. I don't find anything wrong in this. Even this is not controversial. This is simple info which I want to share with rest of world. I don't know why Wiki is hesitating in publish this information. My contribution is very simple and true. Not even blaming Omar Abdullah. It is as simple as drinking water. Still, I am confused why my contribution is not published fully. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Homespun33 (talk • contribs) 18:37, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks Wombat for your reply. If you think Twitter information is irrelevant then Twitter official page from Wikipedia should be removed. I think you are not aware of the power social media. One more thing, then why the information of Film is published on his page. Is it relevant? And few days back IBN media has published the news of 12 Indian Twitter parody accounts you need to follow and one of them is Omar Abdullah's parody account. Is it possible from your end to update this article on Main page of Omar's profile. http://ibnlive.in.com/news/10-indian-parody-accounts-on-twitter-you-need-to-follow/453444-79.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by Homespun33 (talk • contribs) 19:05, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi Electric Wombat,

I agree that nanometers is a bit daunting in an introductory article, but I think we should find a better way to explain sizes of viruses than saying they are around 1/100 the size of bacteria, because it's not clear whether we are talking volume or linear dimensions, and both bacteria and viruses come in a variety of shapes, some quite elongated, so even their linear size is rather ambiguous. There is a nice chart comparing sizes of molecules, viruses, bacteria, and eukaryotic cells at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Relative_scale.svg, but alas it would not be directly suitable for an introductory article, because of its logarithmic scale. Further down, the picture of the HIV viruses on a lymphocyte says better than a thousand words how much smaller viruses are than eukaryotic cells. Maybe we could say something like viruses are around 10 to 100 times smaller than bacteria in linear dimensions and 1000 to 10,000 times smaller than the cells of higher organisms.CharlesHBennett (talk) 12:17, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
Sorry. I'll put the above on the Introduction to Viruses talk page, because I can't figure out who reverted my attempt to make the size description more exact.CharlesHBennett (talk) 12:52, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your prompt explanations on the First Colonial High School talk page. It seems that your patient and cogent explanations defused some anger which should not have been aimed at Wikipedia or enforcement of Wikipedia policies. You brought a calm, neutral voice to the situation which was much more valuable than my reappearance many hours later would have been. Donner60 (talk) 01:44, 23 May 2014 (UTC) |

Please can you tell me what is wrong with the page Alexia Umansky. I have used every piece of information at my disposal and I think that Alexia is notable enough for a wikipedia page.

Hello, doing my usual patrolling and came across This Page, which appears to be 2 people, using the same account, having a conversation in Tagalog. Chunks are periodically deleted, so see the full history. I've not encountered this sort of thing, so am not sure how to handle it (tags, warnings, and so on), though I'm pretty sure this sort of thing is frowned upon. Please advise, thanks in advance! Sorry, no copyright violation was made. The article was taken from GlobalResearch, which states, "The Center of Research on Globalization grants permission to cross-post original Global Research articles on community internet sites as long as the text & title are not modified."
Thanks for research. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djphrost (talk • contribs) 23:08, 1 August 2014 (UTC)
I would like to ask for your help on this issue. I am simply trying to stick to Wikipedia policy on neutrality, editing according to sources, and stopping edits based on online videos and Original Research. In the Reuters source, the military is reported to have recaptured the field (win for them), but the ISIS spokesman also claims they achieved their goal, which was to capture the 15 tanks. So, per the Reuters source, both sides claim achieving their goals. Per WP policy we should present both sides POV. Problem now here is user Potato1 is claiming ISIS did not capture the tanks based on liveleak videos and photos, where he COUNTED them. That in itself is a gross violation of WP policy on using online videos as sources and conducting Original Research. I tried to explain this to him, but he kept talking about the videos and photos and also saying the goal of the battle was to just simply capture the field, which is contrary to what the sources say and once again unsourced OR on his part. I tried explaining to him that per Wikipedia's policy its not up to us to decide who wins or who doesn't win based on our personal POV what's a victory (strictly prohibited OR). He ignored this. As for user Marcel Banisto, he says An encyclopedia does not show two opinions as outcome which is absolutely contrary to WP policy on editing from a neutral standpoint and per the sources. He also did not violate WP: Civility really, but was bordeline with his comments Stop this nonsense. Also, I would like to point out that it seems the account Marcel Banisto is a single-purpose account that has been only making edits (only 5) to this one article, and mostly reverting my edit. Also, he has made similar language as Potato1 of the goal of a battle being only capturing territory, so that raised some suspicion on my part of him being a sockpupet, but I can not be sure. In any case, I tried talking to both of them, pointing to WP: policy on this issue, but they refuse to talk and continue reverting me. What would you suggest? I appreciate leadership and assistance. I'm on day one, because I just watched the movie, thought it is a great reference for the trial. I corrected it once already, when another user reverted for copy paste of NYT copyrighted material. So I wrote a summary of my own. I sited the same sites... is the the information you are reverting it for? The refs? I need to know, because as I said I wrote the summary myself, using 3 or 4 different sources which I read. I don't know how to message someone else. So I found this. Can you help guide me on those two things please? 1. What is copyright issue with last post? 2. How can I message someone, that reverts my work? Thank you! Sudosurootdev (talk) 17:16, 9 August 2014 (UTC) |
