Nitin Passi

Further update: Hi GSS, removed Proposed for Deletion tag, and edited to answer concerns about number of references. Added The Times, The Telegraph, The Mirror, The Financial Times, amongst others. Very interested to have a discussion about where the line lies on notability, but I think Passi falls on the side of notability -- if anything because he appears notable enough for The Sunday Times, Drapers, etc, to publish personal reporting. ScepticalChymist (talk) 13:12, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GSS, I have reverted Nitin Passi, and put up a flag for notability to encourage discussion. Argument for notability is his contributions / profile within the UK fashion industry. Feel merit is accorded from the third guideline from WO:BIO, ie, "The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field." Given that he founded -- and continues to run -- probably the fast growing fashion company in the UK, I think it is didficult not to qualify on that criteria. He also have a substantial media presence. Added a notability tag to encourage debate / discussion. ScepticalChymist (talk) 11:40, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleterion of David Demola

Dear Vinay Gowda,

The subject is notable and featured on Christian networks. He has been accredited by Creflo Dollar and preaches to the 38th largest megachurch in the country as of 2017. Please do not mess with articles on prominent Christian leaders. May I have the original work for self-review and I will redo this article with sources for credibility? This will be redone neutrally and in an encyclopedic way.

Deletion Discussion : Anil K Reji

Hey

The page Anil K Reji has been nominated for deletion. Kindly let me know what can be done to prevent the deletion.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anil_K_Reji

Valid sources and news articles have been included as references in the article. But it still has been nominated for deletion. Kindly assist me through the walkthrough process of preventing the deletion.

Thanks.

Repeated Reverting on article on "Samiksha Jaiswal".

Respected Sir/Madam,

Please tell why are you repeatedly reverting the article on Samiksha Jaiswal to #Redirect Zindagi Ki Mehek?

@Helpful14: As Barkeep49 mentioned in the edit summary that the subject not yet demonstrated to be notable per WP:NACTOR so please do not revert as it's WP:TOOSOON for this actress to have a separate article. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em)

Edits made in Ram Awana Page

hi, Thank you for your reply. Whatever changes I made, have video references on youtube or some other sites. Can I not add such references? as Ram Awana is an actor internet is providing only video references. Please suggest what can I do. User:Gazal288 (talk) Thank you, Gazal288

Ramvir_(singer) and Tom Coleman (fitness model)

Hi GSS, first of all thank you for reviewing the articles I recently submitted. Unfortunately both of the articles I submitted has been moved to draft space. However I did not lose hope and will try to make the articles better and try to move it to main space. I would really appreciate if you please put some light on how I should improve these articles before I submit it to AFC. Thank you in advance Sumitpatelster (talk) 18:01, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As per Wikipedia's 'golden rule' the subject of an article needs multiple independent, reliable sources that talk about the subject in-depth. So you need to provide some reliable sources that are independent of the subject and submit it for a review once you are done. Please don't move it back to mainspace yourself until you get a second opinion as to whether it is ready for article space. GSS (talk|c|em) 02:45, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you have asked me to add more references to the articles. I added a lot of references to Tom Coleman's page, still it has been decline by you without leaving any comment? Did you see those references? What else I can add or remove? Could you please suggest. Waiting for your reply. Sumitpatelster (talk) 04:31, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is no financial stake process. I earn more than what people can offer me for creating an article here. Please don't give me that blame. You might be an admin. I respect you for that. But, please don't say things which you don't know. I help people. That's the end of the it. You require more citations, resources, I will help you with that.

Please Remove the Move Protection Block and then Move Draft:Dj Goz page back to Dj Goz in the Article Namespace

Hi GSS,

I created an article about this artist/producer known as "Dj Goz" that i saw perform a couple of years ago when i visited the university of Idaho. I then did some research to learn more about him, liked what he has done for other artists in Idaho and in Africa, and wanted to write an article about him to let the world know about him and his work.

I am not directly or indirectly being compensated by him or anyone on his behalf, i just want to share this article with the world.

Please remove the block and publish the oage in the Article namespace. I provided the references about him and citations that i have been able to gather so far, for notability, and i am sure other people will add more as they find the article about him.

Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the confusion.

Frank Fitzpatrick

Hey there. I noticed you put a paid edit as part of the issues on the Frank Fitzpatrick Article. I do not believe this is necessary now, given the Talk page now has the full and proper disclosure linking back to my Userpage, and that such declarations do not exist on other pages I have been paid for, such as Amit Sharma (director), Health Australia Party, and Autotrader.com. It'd be great to know what the difference is here, as I do not believe the article is written from an non-NPOV - like the others - although I would appreciate a second pair of eyes. Thanks. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 10:47, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MrMarkBGregory: Both templates are different. The article sounds promotional to me, and I feel a number of references are also not reliable. Pinging @Winged Blades of Godric and SamHolt6: who I believe have very good knowledge on paid editing. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 11:01, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thank you. I'm very happy to discuss this issue further and remedy. Feel free to transfer this discussion to the article's talk page. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 11:19, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@MrMarkBGregory:@GSS: I am inclined to maintain the template in question. The article has several issues with it that should be addressed. For one, the primary sources from Huffpost ([1], [2]) need to be replaced or the content they are supporting removed; the same goes for the PRWeb source and IMDB, as the former is unreliable and the latter's bio entry was written by one of Fitzpatrick's companies. Furthermore, some of the article's content seems to be somewhat superfluous namedropping—the single-sentence "early life" subheading and the first sentence under the "Songwriter and Music Producer" subheading are the worst culprits from what I can see. Lastly, a neutral editor should commence a cleanup of the article and search for more sources so that article provides neutral view of the subject; looking at the history of the article, every single major addition of content has been done by either an SPA or a paid editor, and as such the article may be unbalanced by virtue of purposely-excluded coverage; this last point is secondary to the previous points, but should still be entertained. Best.--SamHolt6 (talk) 15:10, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@GSS and SamHolt6: Thanks for your honest and thorough feedback. Many of the concerns you have raised I had also raised with Fitzpatrick while we were working on the article; I had suggested a much cleaner version of the page which I may now revert back to. For the record, I have already been paid, so any further edits to make this article as reliable and useful as possible are done from my own desire to have a good quality article here, so I hope we can assume good faith from here on in that regard. I will address the issues raised above, and examine the sources once again to see if it can be further tidied. Thanks again. MrMarkBGregory (talk) 16:58, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Shaktimaan (TV Series) Moved back to Shaktimaan

Hello @GSS:, I made that move but I didn't mean to vandalize the article, all I was wanted that Shaktimaan deserves a separate article than just the TV show as other superheroes have their own individual fictional character article so I moved the original article to new page with redirect because I don't know how to move without leaving redirect. you did moved back but you didn't revert my edits so I did that now. Shaktimaan please check it's Biography section that was remained undone because I created a separate article for Fictional Biography of the character. -- MrZINE | talk 09:28, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reversion of Article "SmartBuyGlasses Optical Group" to draft

Hello, GSS I am aware of the WP:3RR and I want to just clearly understand what's wrong with the article mentioned. Please participate to the talk pages consultation

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

NPR Newsletter No.17

Hello GSS,

News
Discussions of interest
  • Two elements of CSD G6 have been split into their own criteria: R4 for redirects in the "File:" namespace with the same name as a file or redirect at Wikimedia Commons (Discussion), and G14 for disambiguation pages which disambiguate zero pages, or have "(disambiguation)" in the title but disambiguate a single page (Discussion).
  • ((db-blankdraft)) was merged into G13 (Discussion)
  • A discussion recently closed with no consensus on whether to create a subject-specific notability guideline for theatrical plays.
  • There is an ongoing discussion on a proposal to create subject-specific notability guidelines for chemicals and organism taxa.
Reminders
  • NPR is not a binary keep / delete process. In many cases a redirect may be appropriate. The deletion policy and its associated guideline clearly emphasise that not all unsuitable articles must be deleted. Redirects are not contentious. See a classic example of the templates to use. More templates are listed at the R template index. Reviewers who are not aware, do please take this into consideration before PROD, CSD, and especially AfD because not even all admins are aware of such policies, and many NAC do not have a full knowledge of them.
NPP Tools Report
  • Superlinks – allows you to check an article's history, logs, talk page, NPP flowchart (on unpatrolled pages) and more without navigating away from the article itself.
  • copyvio-check – automatically checks the copyvio percentage of new pages in the background and displays this info with a link to the report in the 'info' panel of the Page curation toolbar.
  • The NPP flowchart now has clickable hyperlinks.

Hello GSS,

WMF at work on NPP Improvements

Niharika Kohli, a product manager for the growth team, announced that work is underway in implementing improvements to New Page Patrol as part of the 2019 Community Wishlist and suggests all who are interested watch the project page on meta. Two requested improvements have already been completed. These are:

  • Allow filtering by no citations in page curation
  • Not having CSD and PRODs automatically marked as reviewed, reflecting current consensus among reviewers and current Twinkle functionality.
Reliable Sources for NPP

Rosguill has been compiling a list of reliable sources across countries and industries that can be used by new page patrollers to help judge whether an article topic is notable or not. At this point further discussion is needed about if and how this list should be used. Please consider joining the discussion about how this potentially valuable resource should be developed and used.

Backlog drive coming soon

Look for information on the an upcoming backlog drive in our next newsletter. If you'd like to help plan this drive, join in the discussion on the New Page Patrol talk page.

Hello GSS, Today I found that the article Rathish Ambat has redirected to Kammara Sambhavam, according to WP:GNG and WP:CREATIVE.

I created the article because I believe the article is eligible to be in Wikipedia according to clause 3 of WP:GNG, "The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work." and he has got significant coverage in independent reliable sources according to WP:CREATIVE can be seen here.

I know the article was deleted once before for undisclosed paid editing, and I want to state that I am not associated or compensated by anyone for the edits. The image which was used in the article was a cropped version of a photo I shot myself. I would like to work on the article.

Please advise how to improve the article so that It can be published.

Hi, your bold redirect of the above article, which I agree with, has been challenged by another editor so the correct procedure is to take it to AFD rather than revert, regards Atlantic306 (talk)

Removal of information on citation backlog

Hey GSS, you recently made a major rollback to some content that I added to the citation backlog in the Graveyard Keeper article [3]. Following your edit, you made an edit to Operation Bluestar [4], another article that you joined after me. It appears as though you've taken a particular position on the rebel group in Operation Bluestar, and you found the Graveyard Keeper article through my user page or contribution history. I would like to inform you that while it's not entirely inappropriate to follow me into an unrelated article, you should be careful not to do anything that could be misconstrued as WP:HOUNDING. I'm only making a point to say this because of run-ins with another editor. Your edit seemed fairly innocent, besides, I am mostly avoiding all that political edit-war-prone nonsense at the moment.

I guess, having played Graveyard Keeper, I am aware that the the information you removed was accurate and covered by press. A quick Google search should confirm the Switch announcement, gameplay description, and the DLC description. Honestly, I should go in there and add the citations myself *shrug*.

Anyway, cheers. --Elephanthunter (talk) 21:12, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Elephanthunter: I am not hounding you. Operation Bluestar was in my watchlist and I found Graveyard Keeper after I saw an advertisement on Upwork.com, not from your contribution or userpage. GSS (talk|c|em) 01:02, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Upwork doesn't have advertisements aside from the freelance work, and a search of Upwork did not reveal jobs for the video game Graveyard Keeper 🤨 I do not think you were trying to hound me. Your edit was to remove unsourced content, which seemed reasonable and in good faith. I'm just giving you a heads-up about Wikipedia rules. --Elephanthunter (talk) 03:45, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well I call them adverts. Anyways I have shared the details of that job post with a few admins and I hope they will investigate soon. I'm very much aware of rules and policies and I have no interest in hounding you and why I would? Just for your information, someone from the company was looking for freelancers to promote and update Graveyard Keeper and related pages. GSS (talk|c|em) 03:58, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Scandalous! Almost hard to believe. Could you share those details? I'll keep a lookout. Also, what admins should I message if I find more evidence? Since you're a vet and know the rules, you are aware there are tags and templates to warn people off, and a noticeboard for COI. Get the ball rolling! I thought for a minute that you made all this up just to cover yourself for innocently clicking a link on my user page (which wouldn't be a big deal), but it sounds like you are legitimately uncovering something big. I always knew the employees of Graveyard Keeper sought to undermine my work on the article, and now I may finally have proof! I guess it's a good thing we coincidentally stumbled across this pretty much entirely unrelated page. --Elephanthunter (talk) 01:51, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Yunshui and Doc James: can you please explain based on the details I mailed you. Thank you GSS (talk|c|em) 02:03, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not much to explain... there was indeed an Upwork advert (I consider them adverts as well) and I've blocked BananasReborn based on the screenshots you sent over. Yunshui  07:22, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like User:Yunshui has taken care of this one. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 03:16, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Atlantis Group

Thank you for raising the inquiry regarding Sykes Capital being changed from Atlantis Group. I can confirm that I have no COI in this case. I just review Wikipedia articles for the sake of my local area, and Sykes Capital came up. Under Companies House UK, the company name officially changed from Atlantis to Sykes Capital.[1] This is the reason for me rewording the article so that his change is apparent. Perhaps you would suggest changes to the article so that it does sound like an advert or COI.WPContributor123 (talk) 14:42, 8 June 2019 (UTC)WPContributor123[reply]

References

@WPContributor123: I guess they changed the name of Atlantis Holdings Ltd, not the Group. Do you have any other source? Thank you GSS (talk|c|em) 14:53, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@GSS:See link to letter confirming position with the group and which confirms that for the best accuracy the name and details are changed to Sykes Capital: https://www.dropbox.com/s/cl7nai9gag9d085/Letter%20-%20Wikipedia%20Clarification%20-%2010.06.19.pdf?dl=0 (Ajsreading (talk) 04:50, 11 June 2019 (UTC))[reply]
@GSS: GSS, in light of your comments I have uploaded references to satisfy your concerns of Atlantis Group. Please confirm that you are happy the page should be removed from being considered for deletion, especially given that this page has been live since 2010 and with in excess of 250 updates during this time. If however you feel other changes are required please confirm. Screading (talk) 13:01, 14 June 2019 (UTC)Screading[reply]

Teahouse Hosts

Hello. Over at the Teahouse we're having a bit of a 'spring clean' by removing old entries from the list of Hosts that new users see. As you don't appear to have been very active there for some time, your 'host profile' has been removed from the list. But please don't let that put you off contributing again in the future - either by signing back up as a Host to assist on a regular basis, or just dropping in whenever you fancy helping out.

Thank you for all your past help and support for new users at the Teahouse. Nick Moyes (talk) 19:52, 9 June 2019 (UTC) "[reply]

Help Article moved to draft. Conflict of interest cited.

Hi GSS. My article was moved to draft citing conflict on interest, but I don't work for the person. Though I have been a beneficiary of one of his welfare initiatives in past.

I have made one change. Kindly proofread and suggest further changes that are required.

Lucas Rockwood

Hi there,

Could you possibly explain why my edits were reverted on the Lucas Rockwood page? I do not see where there is potential COI and do not believe reverting those changes was necessary. I would like more details please. Thanks. --Semitdark (talk) 14:18, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Semitdark: Do you mind disclosing your relation with the subject? becasue as per my knowledge there was an advert on a freelancing website to update this page so, if you were paid to edit this page you need to disclose per WP:PAID. Also, your edits were not supported by reliable sources that required by WP:V. GSS (talk|c|em) 14:54, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@GSS: I can absolutely guarantee I was not paid by the person for this page, there is nothing to disclose, do you need me to sign something somewhere to declare I was not paid to edit a Wikipedia article? I believe the ad must have been for the previous editor who created the page before I did edits.

I agree that some of my edits could have benefitted from reliable sources upon reflection, that is very true. Not sure however what is the purpose of reverting more "practical edits" such as the person's middle name and residency. Rather uncalled for. But I will proceed to seeking more reliable sources and editing the article better. Thank you for your concern. --Semitdark (talk) 15:17, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Shoutmeloud

Respectfully GSS sir I had created a page that you removed and you said that I have taken money instead of writing that article. I want to tell you that I have not take money in writing for writing articles. It could be that I made a mistake. I saw on youtube about Shoutmeloud. There it has been told that shoutmeloud is India's largest blog. That is why I had written an article. I have already written some articles that have been reviewed. I wrote that article to promote the bloggers of my country, if any mistake has happened to me, then understand your younger brother and forgive — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rajeshkumar999 (talkcontribs) 10:28, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A cheeseburger for you!

My big brother. Rajeshkumar999 (talk) 10:36, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. There is no such thing. Where did you come up with this idea? (Google Translate).--Samral (talk) 10:27, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Samral: As I said your edits give the impression that you have a conflict of interest when it comes to certain Wikipedia articles, especially Tarikh Aliyev (producer) so, do you know them personally? GSS (talk|c|em) 14:37, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please undo page deletion

Hi GSS,

I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. As far as I know there is no COI. As a Bangkokian techie with a knack for researching FinTech industries. A similar company wiki pages TrueMoney and Paysbuy, based in Bangkok inspired me to write about Everex.

I have not used any over-marketing terms in the content and have collected neutral media mentions. Kindly undo page deletion.

Cheers, Rosh.xyz (talk) 07:02, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosh.xyz: The page is not yet ready for mainspace. It needs more citations to become encyclopedic so, once you think the article is ready, you can submit the article for a review, and an experienced editor will check out the article (see WP:AFC). Also, can you please explain why you created this article under Everex Global, not by its original title Everex.io which was deleted twice last year? Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 08:32, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Page deletion reversed

Hello GSS,

I assure you I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits on the Kelly Alexander Hyman article. Based on my analysis and personal review on the article I cannot find any COI. Being a computer science graduate I like improving my skills and understanding the principles being certain platforms, so I wanted to write an article of a legal analyst that I respect which led me to write this article, I would not have uploaded it directly if I did not think it had sufficient references, because I contacted the previous editor whom the article was deleted from before mine.

I carefully wrote the article without any disruptive editing or any over-marketing terms in the article, Kindly review the speedy deletion of the page and undo it, if any advice regarding the article can be provided it would be great, thank you.
