Hi, Virtualiter -- Thank you for reaching out for help! At present, I'm having trouble sorting through the Emil Kahane draft to understand his importance. It's worth noting that you can also create drafts in the draft space or in your sandbox. There, you can work on an article without it needing to meet various Wikipedia standards. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 22:31, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
".. but may read better as prose"[1] No! The list format is clearer for understanding the Hine collection.
Hi, @Virtualiter: I can agree that some of the information may be better in list format. However, it's not clear to me what the current list means. Does "oo" indicate this was one of Koritschoner's wives? If so, there is an error somewhere, given that sources say he only had three wives, not four. Additionally, citations are needed. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:17, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In EN:WP i coudn't find this small symbol: ⚭ for marriage
I'm convinced that Emil is much more important than his son Karl - even if I can't explain how a clerc can buy half a public limited company and then get it back after losing it. But Karl enjoyed more political prominence. --Virtualiter (talk) 15:04, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clarifying about the marriage symbol. This still raises the question regarding verification. At least two sources indicate Julius had 3 wives, but at present, the family section of the article shows that he had 4 wives without providing citations. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 15:12, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[3] Are you typing all this yourself? Hopefully you realize that the source code becomes uneditable with something like that. --Virtualiter (talk) 17:34, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, take a look at this. Because of all the table formatting in the source text, you can no longer see where the story continues. 1166 Bytes is an halfe article!! --Virtualiter (talk) 10:53, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Virtualiter: It looks like the "book" cited there is a collection of essays. Do you know which essay you were citing? If so, the list of authors could be shorter. I tried searching the book for some of the information in the cited sentence but couldn't find the exact essay. Also, it may be helpful to edit using the Visual Editor -- at least sometimes -- to get around cumbersome citations. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:58, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The article from Raymond Bardeen Ladoo[4]. Serial No. 2142 (as single essay). How could ReFill read the name? But shouldn't it be enough to just give Google Books the page number? --Virtualiter (talk) 16:00, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Virtualiter: I'll add it to my to-do list, but I can't promise I'll get to it quickly. I have a lot of work on my plate right now and am using Wikipedia mostly to relax when I have time. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 23:11, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, @Virtualiter: Thanks for touching base. At this point, the article is beyond my expertise. I would recommend submitting for review to receive feedback from other editors. :) Take care, Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 16:59, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed you add WP:BOOKS banners to articles on fiction books; the scope of the project is explicitly "coverage of non-fiction books on Wikipedia." Considering that I actively remove WP:BOOKS from fiction articles, I feel like we may be running in circles. Could you stop adding them to fiction articles, or if I am inaccurate about the scope could we have a wider discussion about this? PARAKANYAA (talk) 01:19, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, it's just the distinction between WP BOOKS and WP NOVELS is very useful to my personal workflow and I felt us simultaneously doing the opposite thing was maybe counterproductive haha. Thank you for all your work on book articles! PARAKANYAA (talk) 01:26, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, I requested perms for that a long time ago, before I was appropriately qualified, I'd say, but I haven't gotten around to reapplying yet now that I am more qualified. I will likely request sometime, thank you for the reminder! PARAKANYAA (talk) 01:46, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What is your problem with the 2030/32 men's and women's EHF Euro articles? They meet all requirements and in the past, these were already created after the bids were announced. I put these articles in my sandbox for future use so you will always have a problem with it. ILoveSport2006 (talk) 10:57, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is not what I'm asking. That was back in January. Back then, no official bids were confirmed but in June 2024, the official bids came out and thus, I brought the articles back. So why are they being deleted now? ILoveSport2006 (talk) 16:29, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Significa liberdade @Explicit @Theleekycauldron @Liz Can I have a response? It's has been three days people. Why were my pages deleted when at the same stage of the bidding process in the past (back in 2021 for the 2026/2028 EHF Euro), the articles were already created and validated. So am I not allowed a response from people who probably don't even know what articles I am talking about and or remember that they deleted them? ILoveSport2006 (talk) 21:56, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I s'pose they're not "substantially identical" if they've passed the bidding stage, although I don't think that addresses the reason for deletion – there's not much to say here, it's too early. I'm happy to restore it and someone can take it to AfD, I guess? theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 22:10, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Theleekycauldron Can you do that please? I would really appreciate it.
People have started editing those pages probably thinking this would continue to exist.
@Significa liberdade deleted it saying that it needs to be speedily deleted because it was a article that had already been deleted prior (or something along the lines of that. But before the articles are inevitably deleted because when I contest it, my voice doesn't matter, I copy them all for future use when more info comes out so @Significa liberdade will always have a problem with them if that's his problem with the articles.
So when the official bids came out in June, I brought back the pages and I think they were 100% wrongfully deleted. I could understand the deletion a bit more in January 2024, but since then, with the official bids being known, they shouldn't have been deleted again. ILoveSport2006 (talk) 22:38, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ILoveSport2006: As I note, I did not delete the articles. I nominated them for speedy deletion, and then one of the editors I named above actually deleted the articles. Articles previously deleted via discussion may be tagged for speedy deletion, but then not deleted because they are significantly different from the previous article or enough has changed. For example, there may be a deletion discussion about an actor early in their career where the community decides the person is not notable enough for Wikipedia's standards. A few years later, another editor may create a new page, and an editor like myself might see the page was deletion via discussion and tag is for speedy deletion. Then another editor with special privileges might look at the article and say, "This actor has received much more media coverage than the last discussion, so I reject the speedy deletion." In the case of the handball articles, it's up to that editor to determine if the new article has enough sources and is different enough from the previous articles to determine it is no longer too soon for the articles. Does that make sense? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 23:06, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just letting you know I reverted your redirect of this article. I honestly don't have a problem with merging the book articles with the Ingo tetralogy article, but it should be all four novels. Just taking out one leaves an annoying gap; it bothers me. -- Robina Fox (talk) 14:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
one of many indian users with lack of language/writing/formal skills, i notice around sport pages; ban would be very helpful. regards! Cenderabird (talk) 15:11, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Cenderabird: We typically don't ban user simply because they lack writing skills as they can contribute to Wikipedia in multiple ways beyond writing, such as by adding citations. Further, pages can be tagged to note there are grammatical issues, which another editor can address without necessary creating the content. If you think this editor is otherwise engaging in question able behaviour, I recommend checking out Wikipedia's article about bans. Hey there, Significa liberdade! Clovermoss and I have been working together to find users who would make great candidates at RfA and great admins – I was a little surprised to see your name on the list, because I thought you were an admin already! I've seen your name around a bunch, with only positive impressions. You have a great content record, do lots of work in admin-like spaces, and seeing the way you handled this thread on your talk only convinced me more. If you're interested in becoming an admin, let me know! We can talk more here, or you can find me on email or Discord (same username). thanks :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 21:00, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You might find my approach to this in my RfA interesting because I also didn't have a strong "need" for the tools. I genuinely believe that a few more people pitching in where they can is good but I also understand completely if the RfA process itself makes you hesitant. Clovermoss🍀(talk)21:33, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Seconded – we could always use more admins who are willing to help out wherever they can. If you're looking for a place to get comfortable with the tools, I think you could put your experience at CSD and AfD to good use dealing with other people's nominations :) from there, you can branch out! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 21:56, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
