Procedural oppose. I'm not necessarily wedded to the need for this, but the stated rationale is completely off base as not everything in the category is an "indigenous" party at all — there are also Quebec sovereigntist parties, an Acadian party and a Ukrainian Canadian party in here, all of which have nothing whatsoever to do with indigenous peoples. So as constituted, the nomination is completely misconceived: it's an argument for either purging this category of the indigenous parties or splitting a new separate category off for the indigenous parties, but neither deleting this category nor renaming it would solve the problem since not everything in the category is an indigenous party at all. Not really. Since the parent category is Category:Political parties of minorities by country, rolling up to Category:Political parties of minorities, this has to stay in phase with that — so there would have to be a new batch rename of that entire tree to "political parties of ethnic groups" across the board, and this can't be renamed in isolation. The majority of such categories in Category:Sportspeople by first-level administrative country subdivision and its subcategories are in the form "XSport people by Fooian division" (e.g., Category:Cyclists from Germany by state, Category:Gaelic footballers from the Republic of Ireland by county, Category:Rugby union players in New Zealand by region) with a significant minority in the form "XSport people by division in Foo" (e.g., Category:Footballers by state in Austria, Category:Field hockey players by province in the Netherlands, Category:Rugby union players in province in Argentina). A slightly smaller number use the proposed form of ""Fooian XSport people by division". As such, this almost certainly needs a far more comprehensive discussion elsewhere than a simple nomination of one small group of categories in this format. Comment: I haven't followed all these CfDs, so I'm not going to !vote, but my preference is still for Category:Professional wrestlers from Canada by province or territory, to reflect its contents, which are Category:Professional wrestlers from Alberta, etc., because "Canadian people" and "people from Canada" are not going to be understood to be equivalent by everyone. There is a mess here, and I am part of it too. There was consensus at the January 12 CFD linked by Omnis Scientia to use demonyms. However, some of the categories in that nomination have since reverted from demonyms to "in country" after Speedy renaming… by me! 🤦‍♂️ [2] I think I should summarily reverse those Speedy renames to reinstate the demonym per consensus. I support the suggestion of holding a wider nomination to rename using demonyms, e.g. the Category:Actors by country and populated place hierarchy, to avoid further accidental errors using C2C. However, when reading the articles about the court treasurers listed in the template I found that the articles are mostly very uninformative about what people have done or archieved in their capacity of court treasurer. Oppose — consistency is good, but we should never seek it at the expense of utility. The proposed change loses a lot of clarity — few readers will know what an “Aegenitan” is, but the “Greek mythology” in the current category helps them. On the inclusion of non-Greek mythology, the only relevant category would be Roman mythology, and there’s nothing stopping a page being in two categories if that is helpful. I don't believe having "Greek" in the category name provides much clarity. Most of the categories will be subcategories of Category:Mythological Greek people anyway. We have the category Category:Ancient Aeginetans. If there is an issue with using accurate names for peoples in case readers aren't aware of those names, we could rename Category:Ancient Aeginetans to Category:People from ancient Aegina and the mythology category can be Category:Mythological people from Aegina, which is also a lot clearer than the current category name. Oppose as formulated; suggest Fooians in Greek mythology instead. Having the name of the people first is useful, as it is the most intuitive way to identify and search for them; having dozens of categories all beginning with "mythological" is much less so. Specifying that they appear in Greek mythology is also helpful for readers (and very few will occur in both Greek mythology and any other, except for some who may also occur in Roman mythology, but even that number will be small if direct borrowings are excluded). However, "characters" is not helpful; what is the purpose of distinguishing characters from (persons) by nationality? "Characters" also has the unwanted effect of implying that they are all fictional, whereas mythology does not involve the truth or reality of the persons concerned, and some of the persons may have been historical (and in antiquity, many, perhaps most persons in Greek mythology were regarded as historical). P Aculeius's suggestion is a slight improvement on the current name but I still prefer my proposal as it is consistent with the naming structure of other category trees and, although there won't be many entries from outside of Greek mythology, it accounts for that situation. Mythological Fooians and Fooians in Greek mythology are different but overlapping categorisation structures, and it's probably not necessary to have both, so it's a case of deciding which is more useful. Hypothetically, if there is a mythological person from Arcadia in Roman mythology, there is currently no Arcadia-related category the article could be placed in, other than Category:Ancient Arcadians, and I'm not sure that mythological people should be listed amongst real people (though I think it's fine for the mythological people categories to be subcategories of the real people categories, just as fictional and legendary people are). Also, as a related note, there are a few categories in the proposal (such as Category:Lapiths in Greek mythology‎ to Category:Lapiths) that don't need "in Greek mythology" in either situation because they're mythological peoples that only exist primarily in Greek mythology. Nominator's rationale: I don't know why this category for Beyoncé's family is named after the surname of her non-notable maternal grandfather and much less famous cousin Angela Beyincé. Her mother (Tina Knowles) was born with the surname "Beyonce". On the other hand, her father (Mathew Knowles) has an article and his surname is more well-known. It would be best to expand this category to include all members of Beyoncé's and Jay-Z's family, with the focus on them since they are objectively the most notable members. That is likely going to lead to a trainwreck. For example Category:Princes of the Holy Roman Empire should stay "of" because the title was prince of the Holy Roman Empire even though these princes ruled in only a tiny part of the Holy Roman Empire. Propose renaming Category:Heroes who ventured to Hades to Category:Katabasis in classical mythology

Nominator's rationale: Currently a very poetic name, and ambiguous because Hades can also refer to the god. It's a subcategory of Category:Katabasis (a journey to the underworld). Renaming would expand the scope to depictions of katabasis in classical mythology and not just heroes (the category currently contains Sisyphus, who was not a hero) and not just Greek mythology (the category currently contains Aeneas, whose story was part of Roman mythology). Largely support, nom makes good points about ambiguity of Hades and the name of the parent category. I would prefer Category:Katabasis in Greek mythology though, simply because Greek mythology has its own category tree where this category can be put under. That would be fine, though my preference is for categories that have a large overlap between Greek and Roman mythology to be under Category:Classical mythology to avoid duplicating information with separate categories for Greek and Roman mythology or just having one for Greek and leaving out Roman. Comment: I wasn't familiar with the term "katabasis", but as long as there are appropriate links and redirects, it should be okay. "Katabasis in classical mythology" seems preferable to "katabasis in Greek mythology" since there is likely to be overlap between Greek and Roman subjects (and perhaps Greek- and Roman-adjacent ones). Odysseus/Ulysses and Heracles/Hercules were popular subjects in both. Æneas is a figure from Greek myth, but the story of his descent into the underworld was told by Vergil (not sure if he originated it). I'm pretty sure that katabasis exists in other mythologies (Hermod's journey to Hel in Norse myth; there are possibly Celtic or Slavic tales of this kind, and perhaps many others around the world), but they wouldn't likely overlap (much) with Greek and Roman myth.
