• Ads not collective works-not marked before 1978=PD Some companies did copyright their ads before 1978. File:Rock Island Choctaw Rocket 1941.JPG This one for Pullman was copyrighted in 1941; the reason it's in the PD now is because they didn't renew the copyright. • The Rock Island ad actually had a copyright notice on it. This ad clearly does not, unless the scanner somehow removed it or only uploaded part of the ad - neither of which seems likely. • Comment. Barnstarbob has a history of modifying images and uploading them, claiming them to be his own work. This probably PD anyways, but the scan is clearly not his, it's from File:1973 Vega Ad.jpg on Commons, by another user who uploaded the image on an earlier date; this is likely the case for the images below.
