Grumpyrob (third)

[edit]

Sparrowgrove created Plastic piping systems, which was CSDed, and the account was blocked as blatant SP by Grumpyrob (block log), but I would not be surprised if he has more. I'd like to have a CU done to find any other sleeper socks. MSJapan 19:05, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clerk note: I submitted this, but as no one else has listed it yet, I'm going to go ahead and do so. MSJapan 16:11, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Grumpyrob (second)

[edit]

An earlier CU confirmed that Grumpyrob had many socks on the Plastic pipe systems article. made up of accounts that solely edited that article. Ccknowles is another one of those articles, and the nonsense edit on the user page is precisely the same sort of thing Grumpyrob did on the user pages of his other socks. Ccknowles also did not edit for two weeks after the account creation in January, so it is a likely sleeper. MSJapan 17:25, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

 Confirmed.  IP blocked. Also:

I stepped in to help solve an issue on Plastic pressure pipe systems per an ANI where there was supposedly a lot of editing and ownership issues on the article. I removed a lot of material that looked like advert and was likely copyvio. Grumpyrob then retaliated by posting an advert tag on Freemasonry [1]. While looking through contribs, Grumpyrob's first edit on April 3 implies that he was aware of the article being moved and thereby misplacing the archive, which a new user wouldn't know, yet he betrays ignorance of policies unless it suits him, as here However, he has a very erratic contrib pattern with gaps of weeks at a time, as do the other users listed above, which is very strange considering the level of problems on the article. Therefore I believe that there's a game of "good hand, bad hand" going on here extending much further back than it seems (via account switchoff), and so I have listed above every account that has almost exclusively made edits to Plastic pressure pipe systems, currently active or otherwise in an effort to resolve the issue. Added Derbyboy (talk · contribs). After I blocked Grumpyrob (talk · contribs) for 5 reverts at the page, Derbyboy showed up and made the same edit (I'm guessing Grumpyrob is using a dynamic IP given the type of block I enacted). I blocked Derbyboy indefinitely as a sock.--Isotope23 talk 14:17, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Confirmed for the Grumpyrob, Drpipe, Pipeup, and also User:Levelmeans, who hasn't done much yet. Davidacarr and Daveedge are stale. (We need an icon for stale!) Derbyboy is  Likely. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 22:27, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
