Suspected sockpuppets

User:Broked123, User:Francisco4r4, User:LovedGuy, User:Noahfan123 and User:WrestlePuroresu123 have been identified as sockpuppets of User:Martimc123 (see Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of Martimc123. Now the contributions of User:Escola123 are being tagged as the edits of the blocked editor Martimc123 and User:193.236.57.121 has been removing CSD tags from Escola123's articles. It's difficult without a SPI filed for an admin to know whether or not these are the same editor even though it is stated on the sockpuppets' user talk page that their status was confirmed by checkuser. So, I'm filing this report to see if Escola123 is indeed another reincarnation of Martimc123 as is claimed and to have a record of this sockpuppetry.
I realize I have presented no evidence but reportedly the first five user accounts were confirmed by checkuser although I can not locate this confirmation. I also want to check to see if there are any sleeper accounts. Liz Read! Talk! 15:13, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We just blocked more than a half dozen of his socks, same interest in Japanese wrestlers and VERY prolific in creating new articles like previous socks. Most of his previous article creations can be found under deleted contributions (please look at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Martimc123/Archive). I could probably block this account under WP:DUCK but I'd rather receive Checkuser confirmation along with any suggestions on longterm solutions to dealing with this sockpuppeteer. Liz Read! Duck - same highly prolific creation of Japanese pro wrestling articles, but the duplicates of articles for which puppeteer has previously been blocked have had case or spacing changes, evidently to dodge watch lists, e.g. :

Here are some of the edit histories of pages that at least two of the above have edited: Desperado (professional wrestling), Brave (professional wrestling), Osaka Pro Wrestling, Doutonbori Pro Wrestling. Also, please see deleted edits at Tuber-Tournament. These editors all display the same interest in small companies and tag tournaments in independent Japanese professional wrestling. 1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.
  3. In situations where it is not immediately obvious from the diffs what the characteristic behaviour is, a short explanation must be provided. Around one sentence is enough for this. Vanjagenije (talk) 10:10, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rapidly recreating past targets of User:Martimc123, as previous socks have done - this time using Japanese article titles. (eg. 浩二土井 instead of Koji Doi, 腕のスタック instead of Stack Of Arms) Seems to be copypasting Martimc123's content - apart from the title, Japonesede123's 正太郎芦野 is identical in content to a past sock's Shotaro Ashino. Both Boruto accounts are active on the Kotoka Shiiba article. On Commons c:user:Boruto720 is adding copyvio images of Kotoka that are then put into the article. The user here tries (unsuccessfully) to show that one of the images has a valid license by linking to a Flickr account by someone named "Martim Correia" (Fireblaze123). This account has both of those copyvio images uploaded. I believe it's clear that Borutos are controlled by Martim Correia, who in turn is Martimc123. The IPs are removing AfD templates from his articles, something that happens everytime someone speedies or nominates an article created by a Martimc123 sock for deletion. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen)(ZOOM) 14:00, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what the exact deal is here but I do smell a close affinity with the whole WhatCulture WCPW/Defiant spam factory from TheIrshKicker40. Whether that affinity is via TheCorageone1 I can't say. There is a very interesting comment on TheIrshKicker40's user page that says "I like helping the others and create articles. I want wikipedia to be great again." This immediately raises the question of who "the others" might be and it suggests some off-site collusion or meatpuppetry. The "great again" could just be a nod to Trump's rhetoric but I do wonder whether a new user who, as their very first edit, posts a comment moaning that Wikipedia is not as great as it used to be could be somebody with an undisclosed prior history here. There is something fishy here and if it is not sockpuppety it is almost certainly something else. --DanielRigal (talk) 18:43, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

A persistent disruptive user has been trying to add non-free images of João Félix to the player's article, either by creating multiple accounts or requesting other users to add them (see Talk:João Félix#Copyright violations), the latter case after the article was protected to prevent editing by new accounts and, thus, addition of non-free images.

Users SHINGO154 and Garra15 were blocked for being socks of Martimc123. They both added copyright violations to João Félix while claiming the pictures were theirs, despite being clear they weren't. They were also blocked from Commons, to where they uploaded several non-free images and removed speedy deletion templates while logged in or logged out (using several IPv4 and IPv6 addresses).

However, the problem persists and is aggravating, as it's evident that the problematic user has created more accounts to edit Wikipedia and upload images to Commons and also to this site. Here is some evidence of the persistent copyright violation, block evasion, and disruptive editing on João Félix:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jo%C3%A3o_F%C3%A9lix&offset=20190713121824&action=history (it started on 5 July 2019)

SHINGO154 adds non-free imageTheNotoriousMMA does the same, adds File:PA7UEFA.jpg

CCVolk23zx adds the same image that TheNotoriousMMA added - File:PA7UEFA.jpg

Non-free image is deleted for copyvio, SHINGO154 adds one, two, three copyvios, gets blocked.

Garra15 adds one, two, three copyvios

Esmost adds copyvio per this and this request by Nzol12 - File:PA7UEFA.jpg

Nzol12 asks CCVolk23zx to add another copyvio

Nxlo03qda adds another copyvio, claims "own work" and shows concern about the upload (Why would show that if the image were free?)

Nxlo03qda re-adds copyvio and claims it's not Martimc123, just like Garra15 did here, here (also claims it's not SHINGO154), here, here

Most of the accounts I mentioned edit articles related to S.L. Benfica (players, managers, etc.), Portuguese football, wrestling, and television. Moreover, I suspect that 85.243.225.246 – a persistent block evader (CoUser1) who also edits roller hockey articles – might be related to 85.241.98.133 and, by extension, to Martimc123. SLBedit (talk) 18:12, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is an obvious case of WP:DUCK: persistent addition of copyright violations to the article and the same lazy writing style in summaries. These reported accounts usually prefer to write everything in lowercase and don't like to use the apostrophe ('): "didnt" vs "didnt"; "youre" vs "youre"; "im not", "im not" vs "im not"; " i " vs " i "; "did you even" vs "did you even". Do you need more evidence? SLBedit (talk) 22:26, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In the last paragraph, I have posted diffs showing the exact same writing style and behaviour in edit summaries, correlating the already blocked accounts (SHINGO154 and Garra15, confirmed sockpuppets of Martimc123) with the new ones I reported.
SHINGO154 and Garra15 are confirmed socks of Martimc123, while Nzol12, CCVolk23zx, TheNotoriousMMA, and 85.241.98.133 are socks of SHINGO154 and Garra15, meaning they are socks of Martimc123. How can I directly compare Martimc123's diffs with diffs of the newly reported accounts when Martimc123 has already been blocked and has not been editing with that account? I can only compare diffs of SHINGO154 and Garra15 with diffs of Nzol12, CCVolk23zx, TheNotoriousMMA, and 85.241.98.133. If not blocked, the vandal, which is what he/she is, will continue evade the block to add non-free images to the article. This is getting tiresome. I guess it's time go to WP:ANI.
