Anurag Sinha (pronounced [ənurɑːɡ sɪnhə]; born 22 April 1991) is an Indian actor who mainly works in Hindi films.[1] He has garnered Best Actor awards at the Alternative Film Festival, Toronto and New Jersey Indian & International Film Festival in 2023 for his work in the film Shadow Assassins (2022).[2][3][4]

Anurag Sinha was born in Patna, India on 22 April 1991. He did his schooling from The Scindia School, Gwalior. Later, he went to St. Stephen's College, Delhi for higher studies before joining Film and Television Institute of India.[5][6][7] He has pursued course study in ‘Exercising Leadership; Foundational Principles’ and ‘Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies’ from Harvard University.[3][8]
After receiving his postgraduate diploma in acting from The Film and Television Institute of India, Sinha made his acting debut with a leading role in Mukta Arts’ crime thriller Black & White (2008),[9] directed by Subhash Ghai. He played a Suicide Bomber who transforms in the company of an Urdu professor and his family, starring Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah.[7][10][11] His work was critically acclaimed, earning him a nomination for Best Male Debut award for his role in Black & White at the 54th Filmfare Awards in 2009.[12]
He played the leading man in Shadow Assassins (2022), a film based on true events of secret killings in Assam,[13] for which he won Best Male Actor award at Alternative Film Festival, Toronto and New Jersey Indian & International Film Festival 2023.[14][15][16] Sinha portrays an Assamese youth who turns into a rebellion at the behest of impolitic movies of the system.[4][17]
Some of his notable works also include P.O.W. - Bandi Yuddh Ke (2017), Sanam Teri Kasam (2016), and Kaun Banegi Shikharwati (2022).
