Boqmech (Persian: بقمچ; also known as Būqmech, Boqmej, Boghmech, Boqmej, Bughmish, Būqmaj, Būqmīch, and Būqmīsh)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Boq Mej Rural District of the Central District of Chenaran County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,902 in 478 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,544 people in 431 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,777 people in 529 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
