Braedyn Duncan Locke (born December 8, 2003) is an American football quarterback for the Wisconsin Badgers. He previously played for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Locke was born in Rockwall, Texas where he attended high school at Rockwall. In Locke's high school career he passed for 11,182 yards and Class 6A Texas state record 127 touchdowns.[1] Locke would deicde to commit to play college football at the Mississippi State University.[2][3]
In Locke's first season with Mississippi State in 2022, he was redshirted and did not appear in any games. After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Locke would decide to enter his named into the NCAA transfer portal.[4][5]
Locke would deicide to transfer to the University of Wisconsin to continue out his college career.[6][7] In week seven of the 2023 season, Locke would enter the game after starting quarterback Tanner Mordecai went down with an injury, where Locke would complete 15 of his 30 passes for 122 yards and interception, while also losing a fumble, as the Badgers would fall to Iowa 15-6.[8] Locke would be annonuced as the starter for their week eight matchup as well as for the remainder of the season, after Tanner Mordecai was ruled out for the rest of the season.[9][10] In Locke's first career start, he would complete 21 of his 41 pass attempts for 240 yards and two touchdowns, as he led Wisconsin back from being down 18 points to beat Illinois.[11] For his performance on the week, Locke would be named the Big Ten freshman of the week.[12][13]
